Editorial Review for Baraza – by Christa Toole
In Short
Although this intimate bar brings to mind the clean lines of modern chic so popular further west, it's punctuated with the eccentric style of the East Village. A few clusters of old retro couches, a couple of port holes looking into an empty fish tank, a great little garden and a bathroom covered in pennies all add up to a friendly, funky little spot. Weekly DJs often spice things up.

This place was so much fun. The DJ was playing a mix of latin sounds. The drinks were cheap and pretty strong. I had a caipirinha that was so strong I couldn't even go for a second one.
Pros: Great Drinks for a very good price.
Cons: Gets crowded on the weekends.

My friends and I had an amazing night at Baraza. The music was excellent - a mix of salsa, Latin, Brazilian, and even the (very) occasional hip hop hit. The dancing was great; it never felt too crowded. And the drinks were excellent and relatively cheap ($6 for mixed) - STRONG caipirinhas and delicious mojitos. Definitely check it out for a fun night of drinking and dancing!
Pros: Music, Drinks, Dancing
