awesome place. I had to post after seeing the previous person say doc holidays is better than the cherry tavern.. it just speaks to that person's tastes...

cherry tavern has awesome and friendly bartenders all the time. show up at like 7 after work and they'll chat with you, and are genuinely interesting people. the place has an awesome crowd, but gets super crowded by 10.. and the place is pretty damn small. the jukebox has great music. trust, this is no bro bar so good luck finding journey on the jukebox..

Boring, Small, Lame Hole In The Wall. This is probably one of the most boring bars I have ever entered. The place is the size of my bathroom, drinks are reasonably priced if you order PBR, the jukebox is filled with a horrible selection of music with several CD's that I've never heard of. Unless you're just stopping by for a quick drink and be on your way, this place has no thrills. If you want to have a good time at a great dive, check out nearby Doc Holidays on Avenue A and 9th St.

It is What it Is. My buddy lives on Ave B and turned me on to this place. I have since turned several people on to it. Its a great place to get the night started, to wait out a long wait at a nearby restaurant or just to shoot pool. Good mix of college kids, post college kids, the typical east village types, post-post college kids and then guys my age (Disclosure: I am 34). There is a beautiful platinum haired bartender some nights, who is very friendly and well worth the trip. The beers are cheap as are the drinks. I would however warn anyone that the bathroom are wreaks and I have caught a cold or two from what I beleive are the glasses, the kegulator or any combo of the two (or perhaps it was the massive amounts of people in an enclosed space. I will also add that the jukebox needs a severe overhaul. But the pool is cool, the tender's a hottie and the price is nice. worth a stopover.

nyu frat boys only. this is what the east village shouldnt have become but did.

Loud obnoxious kids in large groups listening to an awful juke box.

mostly guys. and runned by ass backwards left handed rebublicans

all male bartenders are left handed and are underhanded.

avoid the headache at all costs....

Cherry Tavern-the greatest place on earth. I love the Cherry tavern. The old glory special (Sun-Tues) weighs in at 4$ and includes a PBR and a shot of whiskey, the Tijuana special (everyday) is 5$, Tecate and Tequila. Everything else is 5$ or under. The bartenders are sympathetic and easy on the eyes, often willing to lend an ear after a rough day. The jukebox covers all the bases. It is truly a wonderful place to get blizted and forget your troubles. The place is frequented by intellectuals, girls sporting Lilly Pulizter, and bruisers/alcholics alike. It is a lucky place to be.

Days Are Gone. Once was known as the model's working bar is no more. They originally had 4 dollar Tecate's and a shot of Tequila special, but once they changed it the patrons changed as well. Now it's the kind of place that you feel like you are either wasting your money at or should stop through to use the bathroom. All the staff and the bouncers have changed due to how boring it's become.

What was once a great jukebox probably has Hootie on it now.

this place sorta bites. if you're looking to go out and have someone start a fight with you, this is the place. the beers are cheap and there's a great jukebox, but the crowd of nyu boozehounds is terribly annoying. i feel bad for the bartenders who work there, after all, they're all very nice. too bad about the jerky crowd.

Hole in wall. WEll this is the 3rd time I have wrote this review for this place wonder if it will make it this time. This place is a complete dive. The bartender was extremely rude and turned down a 2 dollar tip on a 15 dollar order cause it wasn't enough. Go somewhere else.

Sweet, Sweet Cherry. What's not to love about a bar where four dollars buys an ice cold tecate AND a shot of tequila? This is a great place to come with a group to kick off or put the finishing touches on a full-tilt night on the town.
