Best Hair Salon in NYC. I've been going to Ene Salon for several months now. Nelson is the best!!!! Prices are reasonable, talented people, and most importantly trust worthy. It's tough to find a place where you can feel relaxed as they cut your hair but sitting in the chair with a glass of wine as Nelson goes to work does just that.

the only place for cut and color. I have been going here for years. Everyone one there feels like family, so much so that now my whole family goes there, including my kids. Nelson and Aisha are the best. Great atmosphere, talented people and reasonable prices. You could not ask for more.

Perfect East Village Hair Salon. The owner Nelson is awesome...so friendly and KNOWS how to cut hair. It's tough for a guy to find a reasonably priced hair salon in the city. You find spots that are $25 that butcher your style and then others that are $100 and no guy can justify spending $100 it's just not worth it. He charges $50 which is still a little high but well worth it. Your served wine and tequila etc during your cut which is pretty cool and the place gives out a very laid back vibe. He has experience with celebrities as well so if they trust him with their hair I can.

Great Atmosphere, So-So Service. Going to a salon, especially one where you're paying top dollar, should be an experience. I went to Ene on the recommendation of a friend. The assistant who washed my hair was a doll and my stylist was very nice too, however, I overpaid to have her essentially trim the cut I had had done 2 months earlier. I didn't feel very pampered - there was no additional hand massage or anything while I was waiting. I wasn't offered water or tea. In short, Ene is wonderful if you'd like a simple trim but don't go there if you're looking for a total salon experience.

ENE GOT IT GOING ON!!!. Hi: I've been going to ENE hair salon about 4 years now and love their service. I've never been to a hair salon where my coat is taken right away and I am quickly offered water or wine. From time to time I write reviews online but usually prefer not to but after reading this past review of how ENE was a horrible hair salon, I felt compelled to write. ENE hair salon has wonderful customer service, their owner is extremely nice and friendly and their staff is extremely attentive. They are one of the few small latino owned businesses left in the LES and they are extremely authentic. If the owner talks about the work the salon has does for Africa, I think that inspiring to all of us. If people talk about their night life and love life they have a right to. That is what people do in hair salons, both the stylists and customers are building relationships and making the experience worth while. The products are also great. Their conditing does hair wonders. Over all my experiences in ENE have been pleasant and I've always recieved my monies worth. In my opinion I think if someone is as angry as they were in their review, they have to look at themselves and see why they are so angry period. Maybe you are just an angry person? ENE hair salon does nothing as horrible as described, nothing at all. If you are looking a good hair but and great service go to ENE!!!!

Is the East Village for You??????. realizing that times are changing......

The east village has definitely been bombarded with a whole new

wave of people that aren't from NY and def not familiar with the East Village..

There was once a time when real artists would get together and jam...

where poetry/art and fashion made true statements.

That was the east village, there's a bunch of new faces.... people that don't socialize

unless it's through the internet(dating) and people that even if you DO SPEAK ENGLISH

treat you like an immigrant ... it's funny im one of the few that was born in manhattan.....

usually in Salon environments it's not appropriate to talk about Religion/Politics and OMG S E X

But im constantly offended by ignorant people that generalize everyone!!!!!!

People come to the East Village to Socialize and to be stimulated in many ways they'd like to forget about in the morning ....basically that wasn't me last night that was the boozzzz

But if your interested in knowing ABOUT THE WORLD NOT JUST YOUR OWN! The east side is for you,

If your interested in being long term in the salon and our friend.....it's for you....

Take time in getting to know us we do mean well:))) We are not perfect but we do try

If this offends anyone please forgive me thats def not my intention im just speaking from

a place many could relate to and speaking for non English speakers

Consistently Excellent Color and Cut. Every time I leave eNe Hair salon, I walk out knowing my hair looks great. I know this because not only do I think so, but I receive compliments on my cut and color (it looks natural to those who don't know otherwise, and suits my complexion coloring for those who have known me longer). Consequently I can recommend Nelson, the owner, and his colleagues anytime. The other stylists there are also great - if my schedule requires a touch-up and someone else can fit me in, I am quite happy for that - the high quality of skill is consistent among everyone.

Here in NYC we are bombarded with demands and stresses that are probably unparalleled elsewhere, so it is particularly refreshing to come to eNe salon to receive great service, good conversation and realize there is real value in this well-appointed oasis. Prices are reasonable; the products (Lanza) are excellent. In fact the recommendations are not frivolous. If an extra potent conditioner is needed now, go for an appropriate product, if not, then don't spend the money unnecessarily. Who tells you that? Not many!

In addition, Nelson personifies community. I was there late afternoon on Halloween (two visits ago), and the entire place was decorated, the stylists and receptionist and assistant were all in costume, and the candy bars were handed out by the fistful to the neighborhood kids. It was great fun. The community is global too - Nelson supports an organization in Africa that provides education for kids - we all can participate by purchasing the locally handmade bracelets. They are beautiful. And never, NEVER is there any pressure to buy, but when asked, Nelson passionately tells of this important work.

Highly recommended - to receive terrific service, expert styling and honest welcoming respect for your preferences. You feel valued as a result.

ENE delivers time and time again!. I've been going there for over a year now (I go every 4-5 weeks) and each time, the cuts seem to get better. I had to grow my hair out and wasn't sure of where I wanted to go with it, but Nelson took a look and suggested a certain look and we went with it. A year later, my 'do has grown in and Nelson and co. have been there every step of the way! They've also got great, high quality products and know how to use all of them like the experts they are. Whether it's being offered a glass of wine upon my arrival or listening to the fun stories of everyone's daily life while getting my hair cut, I know I'm guaranteed first class service and a top notch hair cut every time I show up.

Go for Karuna!!. One word.. KARUNA!! Formerly of Shampoo, I found Karuna now at ENE around the corner. The salon is nice and exudes zen... but it's really all about my hair and Karuna cutting it. She is a true hair artiste!! She has an inherent ability to vision your personal style and then some. I left feeling like a new person... or actually just the really feel good me with a bit more zip. I left the hair stylist I was loyal to for many years to try her out a few months ago and I can never turn back. She defines the art of the hair cut. Can't say enough!
