“Great vibe, cute place, had a great cut and color, fun experience and a wonderful cappuccino.”
“They don't serve bad wine though; just abaraco coffee or water.”
“After the great hair exprecience I went to Lukes Lobster up the block, delicious, and considered this a great NYC day.”
“have been to a variety of colorist at this salon along the way and they have all given me beautiful natural color.”
“However, if you want a place to soak up what is left of the funky East Village atmosphere and meet some local characters while getting a great new look this is definately your place.”
“But now (a blow dry, and many compliments later) I'm sure that I love it and I will definitely be back!”
“Congratulations Mark and Lori for creating such a wonderful salon filled with such talented people!”
“was getting tired of my old style haircut, and coming from the Midwest, the commute would have been too expensive anyway LOL.”
“took a big risk in cutting off my very long hair to a short shag and Leslie's meticulous skill is priceless and hands-down unsurpassed.”
Saori's Cut and Color Rocks!. I just moved back to the city after being away for five years and had to start from square one to find a new hair stylist. After searching the internet for well-reviewed salons/stylists and trying one, unsuccessfully, I bit the bullet and tried again. This time, my experience was amazing! Saori was not only great for conversation, but she really took the time to figure out what I was looking for before starting. Even then, she continued to discuss what would and wouldn't work for me. She was meticulous with the haircut and spot on with the hair color. Rarely am I thrilled when I walk out of the salon, but in this case, she did exactly what I imagined I wanted. I am so relieved to have found someone who truly listens and then makes it happen! My hair is now in the hands of Saori at Salon Seven!
Super Haircut on the First Visit.
Finding a new salon/stylist that I trust to cut my hair is a daunting task. I recently moved to New York and was contemplating buying a plane ticket to see my old hair dresser rather than risk getting a bad cut.
A friend of mine asked me to join him at Salon Seven. He had great things to say about Mark and Lori and I decided to take a chance. It was well worth it. I left with a great cut and it still looks fantastic a few weeks later.
The salon itself is perfect for me as well. With four chairs, it is not loud and chaotic. I really liked the art and its location off the avenue made it a calm oasis in the busy East Village. I am definitely returning.
Rock'n Blond/Brilliant Cuts.
I've been going to Salon Seven's Mark for cuts for 4 years & I've never posted a review. I see a lot of accolades for cuts but not as much for coloring. My favorite colorists are Saori and Leslie. You can trust them to do what you want & they add a creative twist.
I am getting married & want to look hip and younger. So we decided on rich blond highlights. Both stylists are great so I take whoever is available. They are both really easy, fun, and talented. I always feel comfortable in their hands. Its sooo peaceful there too.
I've noticed that the salon gets busy on Saturdays. So I suggest weekdays.
Salon Seven has the best hair designers in NYC. They are priced right and I truly have **peace of mind** knowing I am going to look perfect.
As far as cuts go, Mark is my man! My fiance has gone to him and Mark makes him look just so handsome!
I look divine when I leave this salon and never have to worry. Perfection personified. Everyone there is a master.
GREAT hair care.
My screen name says it all -- curly hair that's fine and thin. Mark "gets" my hair so well, and has been cutting it for several years, each time (and different length) wonderfully. He also cuts my girlfriend's hair, and my cousin's, both of whom have straight hair, and he "gets" their hair perfectly, too.
All the stylists are SO talented (they do men's and women's cuts), friendly, and I've NEVER seen anyone leave the salon with a haircut that doesn't look great / work for that person. Saori and Leslie are geniuses at color, too.
Truly worth the trip if you don't live in the neighborhood. You won't be disappointed.
NEW CURLY CUT!.
Did lots of web-searching before coming here, it paid off. Went to Mark with a picture. We discussed how important shape is when cutting curly hair.
I brought the picture incase communication was void. He understood and brought the picture to life!! He is super talented and I loved my new hair. He suggested not to keep drying it straight, utilize the curls. I simply loved it.
The idea of less maintenance and keeping it simple was too good to be true. I am elated with my new cut. Next will be color with Soari or Leslie.
Love the salon, friendly folks, and knowledgeable staff. Marks talent gives Salon Seven 5 stars.
Good Energy and Talent!.
I moved to Denmark 7 months ago and already am dreaming of moving back to NYC. There are so many things I miss about the city, like Mark and Saori for cuts and highlights. I have been going to Salon Seven for years. Their work always exceeds my expectations.
On a recent visit to NYC on the top of my list was to get a hair appointment. I could not wait to see the entire staff (they are like friends). Everyone working there is so special -- not only professionally -- but they bend over backwards for clients. IT IS A FEEL GOOD GREAT ENERGY PLACE! After a great haircut and color I feel so content, and chic again! Can Salon Seven open a branch in Copenhagen? I highly recommend going to Salon Seven.
HAIR PRAYERS ANSWERED.
I have the best hair team in NY . Everyone at Salon Seven is a true artist "Great Scissor Action" and definitely "color superstars". The stylists are experienced, professional, and very friendly. They are the answer to my hair prayers.
As for Mark, the master cutter extraordinaire. Thanks for making me feel so good about myself. See you soon buddy.
Searched the web and Salon Seven stood out from a myriad of salons. I knew, the East Village would be the place to go if i wanted to update my boring hair.
I want something a bit avant guard. Read about Mark and got an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. I brought a picture to show him.
He seems to be good at doing a lot of different haircuts. He did a totally fabulous job -- For me i feel i found a very creative soul, masterful, and attentive to what he does. I don't know what more to say, hate writing reviews, just go to Mark!
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes....
...and I prefer Salon Seven!
Going to Leslie for two years now. We've changed my blonde shade several times. She does the most beautiful blondes: natural, or chunky - she's the best I've ever found. (No brassiness, no orange. Not tacky. At all.)
I've had the worst and now I have the best.
Her blow outs are beautiful, too. Even that can be hard to find.
When I leave Salon Seven, I make sure to flash the new "do" out and about in the East Village. I look and feel so great. Thanks Les! :)
GENTS! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.
Been going to semi-cheap salons and been getting the worst cuts. After scouring the reviews I found Salon Seven. After seeing all the accolades on Mark's cuts I made an appointment. He's been doing hair for years and is a bit pricey, but I feel like I'm worth the treat. Why I put this off so long...money! I'll just stop all the party binges and spring for the nicer hair cut ;)
I never knew I could look so great and it's hard to put a price on that.
I made the right choice and now have a fantastic new stylist, Mark.
