The Scene
A small unassuming facade hides the seafood treasures inside. Nautically themed decor of replica boats and maritime paintings line the walls, creating a true Cape Cod feel. A free-standing fireplace warms the back room and lighted candles are places on white tablecloths. Servers are knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
The Food
The menu embraces a subtle Asian theme throughout. Oyster choices consist of selected Atlantic and Pacific varieties, including the Long Island-raised Shaffer Cove oyster unique to the restaurant. Shrimp dumplings with a curried Thai sauce provide an interesting mix of sweet and salty. The pan-seared scallops over asparagus mushroom ragout are divinely enhanced with truffle cream. Seared tuna and wasabi mashed potatoes drizzled with orange coriander reduction are also flavorful. End the meal with the tangy lemon tart.

I think Shaffer City is sooo good! The food is FRESH! I like oysters but go there for the other food too. I have oysters as an apetiser and then my meal gets better and better from there. the service is great too. the waiters know about the menu and are very accommodating.

I've never had a problem at Shaffer City! Since the first time I've gone I have experienced good service and fresh food. Happy hour for oysters and beer is the best there.

The place is a living breathing health code nightmare. There was hair in the oysters and the manager was so disrespectful and condescending. I could go on and on about the terrible service but I will leave you with this image.... The manager took his grubby little fingers put them in my food to search for other things...thinking it was cute. My date was mortified and we left right away. Stay away and check out a more sterile environment.

What to Drink:
The extensive wine list offers a nice selection of both national and international wines. The Duckpond Cellars pinot gris nicely complements the oyster selections.
