Terrible service, mediocre food. I was looking forward to going to this restaurant after reading the reviews on Citysearch, but I came away very disappointed. Our waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional, giving us literally two minutes to look over the menu before demanding our orders, and doing the same thing after handing us the dessert menu. A beverage I ordered never arrived, nor did my friend's bread pudding (I finally had to ask another waiter to bring it.) The desserts were tasty, but my salmon was very undercooked. I won't be back.
Good place for dates. This is a good place for dates, the environment is very intimate and the lighting is just right. The food is good, although I wouldn't say excellent. Most of the variations they have made to "update" contemporary dishes are a nice change without everything being too exotic that they ruin it. Good wine and beer. Didn't go to the bar but it looked nice enough.
Delish!. I chose this restaurant, because it's where Sam from Top Chef used to cook, and though he is gone, it's a great place. I had the corriander-crusted salmon, and it was absolutely to die for. Though our waiter wasn't particularly attentive, another waiter helped us with choosing what the order and where to go out afterward. I tried the lychee martini, after hearing how good it is, and I was really disappointed - the other cocktails at my table were good though.
the food is okay, but the bar has free olives, great cocktails and good wine menu by the glass.
I've eaten here a few times, both before and after Sam the chef left, and the food is good, not great, but good, especially for the price.
The bar is the key though, with good tap beer, free olives and just a simple pleasant atmosphere. It's not hip or cool, but comfortable.
what the hell happened?!?!?.
Ive been coming here for about 2 years..it was so damn good. It was the place I would Take out of town guests, family, friends etc. Always a huge winner. The staff informed me The old chef Sam has left to persue a television cooking career. Well when he left he must have taken the entire kitchen staff with him. The best dishes have been removed..WHY? The new menu is a play on something the restaurant is not at all. The menu is almost unfit for this location and to the regulars. Mint- egg sauce with oysters, are you serious.? Im all for exciting new flavors, but thats just disgusting. Sam where ever you are -----HELP!! These guys really need it. Although Im sure your tv show will
be a great. ( He's such a HOTTIE)
Must-have shrimp ceviche!. When I lived in Chelsea, this was on the regular bi-weekly rotation of restaurants - great food, good service, reasonably priced. The menu has something that everyone can enjoy. This is a versatile pick suitable for every adult audience - dates, out-of-town guests, business colleagues or just your friends. As mentioned in the tag, you must have the shrimp ceviche - a delectable combination of sour, sweet and spicy with a fantastic, crisp texture, which comes with a side of slightly stale, unsalted popcorn. Sometimes I just sit at the bar and have a double order of it.
great little flatiron restaurant!. A friend suggested it as a good place to go on a weeknight for good food and great drinks - and I agree! We went at 9pm and despite a crowded bar, there was no wait. The fist dishes were really good - the Ahi especially. I definitely recommend. Waitress was attentive - food was timely...
great spot. i came here last week with my girlfriend and man were we stoked. we had been hearing good things bout this place from friends, internet etc. But we were totally surprised...the food was awesome and the prices are unheard of for nyc. we met the chef and he bought us a round of drinks. thanks for a great dinner punch!!!
Great Food, Great Prices, Great Atmosphere!. On a recent Trip to NYC I ate at Punch on Broadway. This was a great restaurant with moderate prices. We waited for about 30 minutes without reservations but the Bar was great. Appitizers, Crab Cakes, Bread, and Desert were all great. Service was very good too. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next visit to New York.
don't bother. The food is average, however the service is way below average (our waiter was a stuttering fool when it came to the specials and left our drinks empty for the majority of the night) The atmostphere is cheesy as well as the crowd. Lets just say I won't be returning, and if you haven't been, you're not missing anything
