It is my number restaurant in the entire City........... I grew up here in New York City. My older brother before he moved to another state lived all his life here too. He used to visit Mexico Lindo a lot and I am a follower, especially for their chips and sauce. I have been going to this restaurant for the past 20 or more years on a regular basis. I have borught my family here and my friends and lately I had dinner here with my new wife and our witneses after we got married in civil court. Everyone there treated us very warmly. Jose, the guitar player, is a great man. He is very nice and tries to make us feel very comfortable with his music. The food is great. It is inexpensive and it is tasty. This is not Taco Bell. This is real mexican food where you can bring your family or friends for dinner or lunch and enjoy the best tasty chips and sauce at the best price. Everyone I have introduced this restaurant to and who has eaten there with me always talks nice about the great atmosphere and the very friendly and attentive waiters. They are excellent in the business. This is why they have lasted so long around. Customers love them and appreciate the work they put into making the best mexican cuisine possible. I realize the drinks are a bit pricey for what they are, but in short it is a superb restaurant with a superb staff and a superb meal for everyone at a reasonable price, especially at lunch time. I always show them my appreciation at the end of our meal by leaving something on the table. In other restaurants they will even ask you for it at the cash register or even follow you. Here they don't hustle you in anyway. They are great. I recommend this restaurant highly to everyone.

Whoah! Why Hadn't I Been Here Before?!?. I had family in town this past weekend & needed to find a good Mexican restaurant in Murray Hill / Gramercy that could accomodate 8 people later in the evening. Not too college-y like Blockheads, not obnoxiously expensive... something right in the middle -- but still fun. After Baby Bo's said they couldn't make reservation and turned away my business (& ultimately missed out on a rather large food & booze tab), I walked down 2nd Ave to Mexico Lindo to check out the place. I was greeted warmly, was surprised by the comfortable-yet-classy decor (white tablecloths with candles), and promptly made reservations. Later that night I arrived with family in tow & we were led directly to our table in the crowded restaurant. The service was excellent, the margaritas were strong, and the food was delicious. Even the free chips and salsa were tasty. I had the Enchiladas Especiales Mole and it was a fantastic dish! We all tasted each others meals and everything seemed to be unique in taste (not cookie-cutter Mexican tasting), wonderfully prepared, and easy on the wallet. We're not talking Chipotle prices here, but defintely not Dos Caminos either. We finished off our dinner with a variety of the coffee & liquor drinks that they offer... the Cafe Mexico Lindo was my favorite (with brandy & Kahlua). We never felt rushed, and the staff and host (/owner?) were warm and friendly. As we walked out on the sidewalk everyone complemented me on my great restaurant choice and raved about the food and margaritas. I'll definitely be back many times, and it would be a great choice for a pre-movie meal at the Kips Bay Theater. I encourage you to check this place out if you haven't before... I live down the street and it's taken me 3 years to find this. I'm definitely glad I did!

Really friendly but bad memory. I went here to celebrate my friends birthday. Everything was great. They were friendly, they seated us by the window, i swear they were flirting. It was great until I got my food. I ordered the burrito w/o onions because I HATE onion. He said OK. When I got my meal I cut it open and found onions!! When I told the waiter this, he seemed confused and took it back. About a half hour later, after my friends have all finished their food. A waiter comes by and starts to clean up the table. We tell him that I have not gotten my food yet. He goes away. 5 min later some one else comes by to see how we liked our meal. We tell him that I havent recieved my meal yet. 7 min later a waiter arrives with my food. And to my surprise their were onions in it!!! I gave up.. I asked them to wrap it up and we left. I really thought it was going to be a wonderful experience but they seemed to busy trying to make us laugh to pay attention to our order.

Mexican treasure. First visited Mexico Lindo in 1981. 25 years later still my favorite. Staff is GREAT especially Frank. Food is fantastic, my personal favorites are Ropa Vieja and Fajita. Best flan I have ever had. Top off with a 43 on the rocks and you've had a perfect dining experience. We've had 80TH birthday party and an Engagement Party 15+ people and we were treated like royalty. Jose sings everything from Beatles to Béseme Mucho. Often enjoyed conversation with other diners...very friendly clientele.

Ay Chihuaha!. Food is delicious, drinks are too (however, Margaritas seem at bit pricey @ $ 10.00 each). Great atmosphere, wonderful service, older crowd. The street-side table seating is a little cramped but tolerable, if you like to people watch while you chow down!

Best in NYC. When I first moved to NYC over five years ago, one of the first restaurants that I went to was Mexico Lindo. I have eaten in many Mexican restaurants over the past five years here in the city, and this continues to be my favorite. Simply the best food, service, and margarita's you will find in NYC. Oh those margarita's! I have introduced many friends to this hidden jewel, and now they are hooked too. Last year my friends through my birthday party here for me. Everything about ML is wonderful! Go today, you will not be dissapointed.

Best Restaurant in Town. I used to work in the area and was taken to Mexico Lindo Restaurant for lunch by a friend. I have been hooked ever since (going on fifteen years). The restaurant is great for lunch meetings and celebrating birthdays in the evenings.
