The Flatiron nightclub is dressed to the hilt with a mahogany bar, plush leather couches and sparkling chandeliers. "Sex and the City" fans may not always catch a glimpse of co-owner Chris Noth behind the bar, but a few things are constant here. You can always expect a full American menu served until midnight, and live performances of blues, jazz, folk, world music, spoken word and burlesque.

Some talented people show up at this venue. As everyone know Mr. Big has a stake in it as well as Richie Canata. Have musician friends that love to show up at this venue on Monday nights to just jam. If your with the right people and not with people with inhibition issues, you can rock it on a Monday! Just have fun-they do!

This place has a nice lounge area in the front with decent priced drinks and good seating. The back doors open into a theater room with a large stage, an additional bar, and lot's of tables. I recommend the open mike jam session they have every Monday night, for free! Some talented people show up.

The Cutting room has a comfortable bar area where you can relax and enjoy decent food and drinks. They have live shows in a back room. Its a small performance area. You can find both cover bands and new artists. You have to look at your bill carefully. Each time I went there they included something from the person sitting next to me. I guess they assume if you talk to strangers you are buying them a drink too.

There's seating room around the stage and visitors are invited to dine throughout the show.
When to Go:
The Open Jam with Richie Cannata is every Monday at 11pm. Joan Rivers is every Wednesday at 8pm (doors at 7pm). Le Scandal Burlesque is every Saturday at 11pm.
What to Drink:
The Foreplay mimosa is a tantalizing mix of orange rum, orange juice and champagne.
