good tunes and shuffle puck

Been to this crappy bar a couple of times; but I'm not a regular. Service is poor at times, I know they are busy and whatnot. If it wasn't for the shuffle puck and good tunes, only the dregs of society would be caught dead in this place.

fun, affordable, fantastic happy hour, great late night spot

I lived in New York for three years and luckily found this gem of a dive bar. Sad to say, I've been away for a couple years. I was thrilled to stop in and find that Plugs is still as fun as ever. Tonia is still behind the bar, working her magic. As always, the bartenders are fun and friendly, keeping locals and tourists happy and well taken care of. They've spruced up the place with new TV's, and the shuffleboard table and pool table are still great gathering spots. You can have a fantastic time here during happy hour, late night or as your main destination. Kudos to the bartenders & owners of this excellent NYC watering hole!

An old favorite

This has been my favorite "dive" bar for about 6 years. Everyone who works there is extraordinarily friendly, and if you come in enough, you get to know the other regulars, who are also nice people. To the person above who mentioned the bartenders, it's spelled Tonia, she is the best bartender i've run into in many years of drinking. It not a "scene" place, but a great, friendly place to have a few beers, or go drinking with a group of friends.
