really good pizza
Contributor at Citysearch
I moved to murray hill about six months ago. So like any newcomer I tried every pizza place from 40th to 20th but mike due and mikes on 2nd ave are by far my favorite. They get my pizza always right and my favorite slice is the works. It is family owned and operated too, they have a really friendly staff
Great Slice, Great Price, and Great People

I live on 34th Street but always make my way down to Mike's. They have a really great slice, I think it's the sauce. Every time a new pizza shop opens up in the area, I always check it out. Time and time again though I always come back to Mike's. The Manager is really friendly and so is the staff. I highly recommend the sicilian slice or the chicken roll, which are two of my favorites. The way I look at it, there is no other place in the area worth the value you get for your money at Mike's. They also have a really fast delivery service. Keep up the good work!
Awful customer service, no more than 3 star-quality pizza

I was attempting to bake my own pizza in my apartment and went over to Mike's Due to buy some dough. The manager and worker behind the counter both refused to sell dough (which is yeast, flour, and water by the way.) to a paying customer. Now the pizza itself is fairly ordinary and '3 star' quality, but they lose 2 stars for lack of intelligence. Customer offering to pay 5$ for pizza dough and giving you a 400% return for your materials is not something you should be turning away.
I would steer clear of Mike's Due (again...pizza is fairly ordinary but dough is good) and try better alternatives. (Pastafina on 28th and 3rd or the place on 2nd between 29th and 30th. Service and quality are much better)
- Pros: Ordinary slice
- Cons: Poor customer service, not traditional italian, too much bread in dough
worth the wait...

Everytime I go to Mike's on 2nd Ave., I find myself waiting a pretty darn long time for a chicken parm hero... but once I get it, I'm pretty darn satisfied. I think I'm gonna order one for delivery tonite, and I'm curious to see whether the service is faster, or worse, but other than that, the guys there are helpful and cool. I guess good food doesn't = fast food.
Yum Yum Time!

This great little pizza place was right by our hotel, and was by far the tastiest pizza I've had for a long time. (I'm not a big Pizza Fan). Very nicely priced slices to take away, which were very handy for an late night snack!
- Pros: Clean, Well Priced, Good Menu
- Cons: Fast Food Style
