Basic budget digs in the cool Chelsea neighborhood..
The Scene
This pretty, brown brick hotel was built in 1901. It is a good choice for travelers watching their wallets who want to spend time the majority of their time in Chelsea or Greenwich Village. It could even be an option for those visiting the Javits Center, which is several long blocks away.
The Details
The staff is friendly, and the 121 guest rooms are clean. The style in the rooms is fairly unimaginative, but the colors are warm, which helps with the ambiance. Amenities include TVs, refrigerators and safes. Among the facilities are a restaurant and coffee shop. On weekends, guests should check out the flea market at 26th Street and Sixth Avenue.
Hey I Agree. I have stayed at the Arlington Hotel 4 times over the course of the apst 3 years and have found that it is a decently priced well-run hotel. For the location it is a bargain, and I am planning on going again this March and have booked my weekend stay back into the hotel. Plus I love the Chinese Food Restaurant in the hotel.!
Nice hotel, reasonably priced. If you wasnt a nice hotel, recently renovated, try the Arlington. I looked in several travel guides, and one mentioned that this was one to consider, I tried it, and was very satified. I was just there over the Columbus Day weekend, and it was only $99.00 a night. The clerk was very friendly and helped me locate the quickest way to the meeting I was attending. I've only been to NYC 4 times in my life. The room was clean and well-maintained, with a good mattress. The shower had good (and hot) water pressure, even on the 11th floor where I was. I had to check out before my meeting was over, but they have a convenient service where for $1.50 per item, they'll store your luggage next to their gift shop. They have a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel, which was accessable from inside the hotel.
