In Short – This revered home furnishings empire got its start in the 1950s with tables, desks and shelves made out of actual doors. A variety of styles are available, from Shaker to modern shabby chic, handcrafted Italian vintage-looking dressers to overstuffed leather sofas. In addition to dining sets in polished chrome or classic pine, living-room furnishings and bedroom sets (including luxurious linens), the store also carries an extensive line of modular industrial furniture.
Do Not Shop Here!

Whatever you do, do not shop at The Door Store if you actually want to receive the furniture you purchase. I purchased furniture from the store 14 weeks ago and have yet to receive the furniture. I was told that all items were in stock except for the dining table, which was backordered 4-6 weeks. After 4 weeks I called to receive an estimate about when to expect delivery and was told that not only was the table backordered but the dressers were as well. I was told that the dressers would be in after Labor day and to call back then. I did, and was informed that they wouldn't be in until the end of September, along with the table. At that point I started calling every Friday, and each time the story changed depending on who answered the phone. On Sept. 25th I was told that the dressers and chairs were in and could be delivered, but the table now would not be in until the mid-October. I scheduled delivery of the dressers and chairs; however, when they arrived I realized that the dressers were not the ones I had ordered based on the description online. They were not available to view in the showroom, and I needed them to be a specific size to fit into the space available in my small apartment. I confirmed online that they were different than advertised, called customer service and was told to refuse delivery. Before the store had even called me back to discuss the issue they had changed the description and measurements online. Now I have four dining chairs, no table on which to serve meals, and am living out of suitcases.
After some discussions I arranged to exchange the dressers for ones that were in the showroom for viewing and would fit in my space. That was four weeks ago, Oct. 9th. I was told that they, surprise, were backordered 4-6 weeks. I called on Oct. 30th and was told the dressers and table would be in on Nov. 9th. I called again on Nov. 6th and was told that the dressers and table wouldn't be in at least until the last week of November.
At the time of purchase I was offered a 15% discount if I paid with a debit card, which I did. The Door Store cancellation policy is that after 48 hours of purchase a cancellation will not get you a refund; instead, you get store credit. And they take no responsibility at all for "vendor delays". Quite honestly, I am dumbfounded at how this company remains in business. They have taken over $1,800 of my money, in cash, and have not delivered on their end of the contract.
The bottom line here is do not go to this store, do not go to the Web site, and do not give them your money if you actually want to receive what you purchased.
Poor Customer Service!!!

The service you recieve at the store before you purchase is great until you pay for the item. Good luck after you pay for the item and than they deliver one piece at a time and cross your fingers that no merchandise is damaged. Service is key to Success but either Glenn ext 2165 or Diane ext 2108 gives a damn at 201.864.6669. So my advise to you is pay a little more to a company that will keep customers coming back!

Horrible customer service

My wife and I bought two lounge chairs. After expressing my concern about their delivery policy (we live in a co-op with a very strict delivery policy) the salesman assured me it was going to be speedy and to "think positive". We were apprehensive because we've run into problems before with deliveries from Macys's and Sears. After realizing that the delivery would be impossible because of our work schedules we decided to cancel the order. After reading the fine print in the contract we realized that there are no refunds after 48 hours, only store credit. Can you believe that? I get thirty days for any generic purchase but only 48 hrs for a purchase in the hundreds of dollars. We even went back to the store and spoke to one of their salesman but all he said was "We cannot do anything here at the store, you have to speak to customer service. You can also dispute the charge with you credit card company".
I called customer service and asked for my money back and the response was a definite NO. They were VERY unprofessional and even made snide remarks. What I relized is that once you sign a contract with this company is like signing your life away.
Buying furniture is a really big decision so be careful when you choose the store you're buying from but above all avoid the "Door Store" like the plague.
Pros: Decent furniture
Cons: Very rude customer service, no accountability.
