Very Poor Service – You take your chances ordering a dress from this store. They offer no guarantees and do not have a seamstress on site. I ordered my dress and was measured and when the dress arrived I was literally swimming in it. I suspected the wrong size was being ordered when the order was placed and voiced my concern but I trusted the professional that ordered my dress. Now I am stuck with $150+ worth of alterations and not even an apology form Here Comes the Bridemaid. I suggest going to a full service place that stands behind their service instead of this warehouse.
Excellent Little Shop – There seem to be a lot of strong opinions about this shop - I guess you either love it, or you hate it. Personally, I liked that you could see all of the dresses in front of you, no one was pushing us to buy, and they were very accomodating with their appointments.
All the dresses are arranged by designer, with the names shown clearly on top, and the prices visible (Although that's just the suggested retail price).
Best of all was their prices, which were far lower than anyone else I saw - they agreed to match the prices they had on their website, which by the way is "Bridesmaids"
I ended up buying 3 Dessy dresses - and although I have yet to receive them, I only have good things to say about this shop.
Low Class Trash – I was totally underwhelmed by my experiences with the Here Comes the Bridesmaids staff. Not only is their showroom reminiscent of a sample sale, but their layout cannot accommodate more than a handful of people at a time comfortably.
The dresses are poorly displayed, a designer would probably faint at the sight of their creations stuffed haphazardly on meager metal racks.
Additionally and more importantly however, they do not do a good job of measuring. They ordered me a dress that is at least two sizes too large, even after I called and asked them to adjust the size and now I am stuck having to pay damn near the cost of the dress to have it resized. I am also fearful of losing the shape of the dress in the alterations.
When I called and told them of this they did nothing to accommodate my problems, but recommend their seamstress. And of course they take no responsibility should there be a problem with the dress post alterations. . .the obvious problem with shops that outsource their alterations. Oh and I should also mention the fact that getting a human on the telephone is nearly impossible, since they have a automated service where you must leave a message and a prayer that your call be returned.
Overall, based on selection, presentation, service and skill with regard to measurements as well as recommendations based on measurements this place should be forced out of business.
Teriffic Experience!!! – I just purchased 4 Dessy dresses from them and I have nothing but good things to say. My appointments were unrushed and the ladies were very helpful - not to mention the wide selection.
Not Recommended – I'm a bridesmaid and recently picked up my dress - I went w/the size the woman measuring me told me I was, assuming she knew what she was talking about. The dress completely doesn't fit and bc there are no refunds/exchanges, I'm s$%t out of luck. A more accurate measuring process, or employees who are more knowledgeable would really be helpful
Terrible Service and incompetent workers – I had 5 bridedsmaids and 1 jr maid and I never got a call to say my dress had come in. They had been there 5 days by the time I called. One of my maids dress had a broken zipper (not their fault) but they order a replacement that supposed to come in a weeks time and dispite my calls they never tried to get to the bottom of where the replacement dress was. I finally get irrate for someone to go over the the manufacturer and pick up the dress. Why could they do that from the beginning. Didnt get the dress until 4 days before my wedding when we should have had it a month before.
I do not recommend at all!!!!!!!
Very Helpful – I went there this past weekend without an appointment because I have a last minute Bridesmaids emergency. The women were extremely helpful (even though they were working with several other bridal parties). Even though I was unexpected they took the time to talk to me and help me out (trying on the dress and getting measured) and for that I am extremely grateful. I would definite go back!
Brand New Store – It's true, this shop was in a basement on 14th Street for a long time - it's the 3rd wedding that I've used them - but they just moved to a really nice space on 35th and 7th. The showroom looks great - everything is new - and they do have an amazing selection of bridesmaids dresses (They don't really sell wedding dresses). You do have to make an appointment (Unlike RK), but they do pay attention to you and guide you through the dresses - and, they don't work on commission, so there is no infighting --- 2 separate ladies helped me. I have found them very reliable over the years and their prices are as good or better than the other shops. I totally recommend them.....Bobbie
Gross out! – I feel compelled to share my albeit brief experience so that other brides may avoid this place and save their time. I made an appointment here after seeing Designer Loft and RK Bridal. I have kept an open mind. Boy was I in for a surprise. This basement store turned me off the minute I looked in the grimey window. The carpet (!) was totally dingy, had beat up furniture and chipped paint walls. To top it off, no one was manning the desk when we arrived. The smell of food was completely overwhelming. An older lady came in from the back and asked for our names. They were eating and weren't wearing shoes. Maybe this is appropriate behavior in a back room, but when you bring it near gowns it seems beyond unprofessional. While inviting, she returned to her meal in the back as I perused the minimal yet organized racks. It seemed so dirty I didn't even want to try anything on. I turned to my friend and we agreed we'd seen enough. We turned to go and had to remove trash bags from in front of the door just to leave! I can't even make this stuff up. We said goodbye, seemingly to no one, and left. The sales lady called to us on the street asking if we were over. I politely thanked her but really couldn't be moved to return. This place was such a disappointment. I wish there were one gleaming superstar store for bridesmaids out there. This is certainly not it.
If they can put up with me... – This place is great. Don't let the negative reviews deter you from going here AT ALL. I have 10 bridesmaids, 1 Junior Bridesmaid and my mother who all ordered dresses from them. I went there 8 times with different members of my party to try on, get measurements, etc. The salespeople were nothing but helpful and considerate. They even squeezed me into days that I know were incredibly busy for them when I called the day before.
The place is small but it makes you feel like you are actually getting individual attention and not in some huge warehouse bridal shop. The selections that they have for each designer are very good too for such a small place. We ordered Jim Hjelm dresses and were able to try on about 8 different styles in the fabric and length that I wanted. I don't have one negative thing to say about them.
The best part is that depending on how many people order dresses from them in your party, they give discounts. We ordered 12 dresses and got a 15% discount on all of them.
