Editorial Review for Here Comes the Bridesmaid – by Lisa Marie Rovito

The Scene
Don't expect powder-pink walls or a cup of mint tea at this completely functional, basement bridesmaid shop. Even an appointment doesn't ensure personal service, or ease the anxiety caused by a tense, bickering staff and an anything-but-upscale environment that includes stained carpets and slipshod dressing rooms. The bride may buy her dress at a chic boutique, but her friends are stuck with argumentative salespeople, harrowing tactics and dregs of decor.

The Goods
The shop does offer a handful of designer dresses all in one place, including Jim Hjelm, Dessy Creations, Lazaro, Nicole Miller, Watters & Watters and more. Dresses are sorted by designer not color, with helpfully descriptive tags (style number, size, price, et cetera). Gowns are generally in good condition, and copies of recent bridal mags lie about for browsing.

I have to say that I don;t understand the negative reviews here. My experience was very pleasant. I was looking for bridesmaids dresses well under the $200 mark. Simply becuase my bridal party consists of moms, students, and some that are not working right now. I went to RK and thread before them. RK has rock bottom prices but their customer service is horrible! No one speaks english except for when you pay at the front. The dresses are dirty and dingy and if you mess up your measuremnts your screwed. Take my advice fellow brides.it's not as easy as it looks to measure yourself! Thread gowns were nice but way overpriced at well over $300 per girl. At here comes the bridesmaids I chose dresses by watters and watters. The quality is beautiful for the price and discount I received. And to top it all off, the dresses are cocktail length and can be worn again. I went on my lunch break one day and a sweet girl at the desk helped me start a file and then I came in with my5 girls the next day and ordered. I highly recommend you try this store.

Pros: great dresses that can be worn again, prices, service

Cons: avoid saturdays if its your first appointment

Please, spare yourself the drama and go anywhere else but here! No matter how far in advance you make (and pay for your order) they wait until the absolute last minute to place it. If anything goes wrong, you'll never have time to fix their mistakes!

Pros: Good selection - but you can find it anywhere

Cons: Bad service - You need good service (this is your wedding day!)

Pretty designer bridemaid dresses in a sadly unpretty store.  See the full editorial review.
