“The atmosphere is cozy and romantic and although the waitstaff can get busy and are a little preoccupied at times, I do think they mean well.”
“Loved our pizzas, mojitos in a cafe glass, and best of all, sgroppino - that lemon/vodka frozen dessert drink I hadn't had since Italy '02.”
“They have a cozy atmosphere, delicious food, tasty wine and good service.”
“great Italian food and cozy, unstuffy atmosphere”
“The food was fresh but just sortta blah -nothing really stood out, since we had such a large group we had a good portion of the fairly limited menu and there was nothing that was BAD per se but Nothing that was very memorable either, all in all I would rec”
“great place for good quality, real northern italian food - not the artificial, oversized red-sauced gloop that passes for Italian to some New Yorkers.”
“and you'll be very happy (big pizzas with interesting toppings, strong drinks, low lights, not very expensive) We even liked our sweet waiter.”

“It's a great date restaurant and the waiters are hot, but sometime a little slow.”
Favorite cozy Italian spot. Piadina is my favorite local cozy Italian spot. Cozy, romantic and casual...delicious pasta, amazing buffalo mozzerella with a terrific wine list. I love to try new places but I keep coming back here.
A great cosy Italian gem.
Is this the best Italian restaurant in NY? Probably not. But I can't afford to eat at the best. Of the rest, this is certainly the best. The staff was really kind, going out of its way to accommodate our ever-growing and unreserved group.
The wine was good but I can't tell you much more about it, as I'm usually a beer drinker, and went with the red stuff only on the advice of friends. The food was really tasty, especially the pasta dishes. I had something that means EAR-LIKE, filled with sweet and just-a-touch-of-spice sausage. It was heaven. The flan-like desert was the winner. I had a small ice cream something, served in a plastic cup. That was a boring mistake. Get the flan! (Or whatever they call the Italian version.)
Besides the plastic cup ice cream, the only drawback is their cash-only policy. I understand it, though. The prices are moderate (not cheap... but not killer), and in order to keep them that way... with such high quality... they have to avoid credit card charges.
It's a small place, so try to make a reservation. Mine got lost in the shuffle, but they still went out of their way to accommodate us.

Great place for a group to eat!.
I have lived in the neighbourhood for a long time and always love this restaurant.
I recently had to find a restaurant for 8 -10 people and thought this would be the place to go. They were so gracious and the food was excellent. We had such a great time and felt like we were in home instead of a busy New York restaurant!
Food poisoning. I used to love this place too, but I went on Friday night and two hours later I got really sick. The salad didn't look right, and I didn't eat much of it (they took it off our bill). It might have just been a one time thing, but I don't think after that experience I would go back.
Amazing little Italian place. Piadina is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It has great food and a great atmosphere. It's a perfect place to take friends who are visiting from out of town because it's very "New York" (without all the fuss of more popular dinner spots) and it has something for everyone. We take all of our friends and we've never heard complaints!
Cozy Spot. This is my favorite restaurant. They have a cozy atmosphere, delicious food, tasty wine and good service. I would highly recommend getting the Tagliatelle Al Ragu - it's phenomenal! The pasta is always fresh!
This is my favorite Italian restaurant!. Ever since I walked into this charming rustic place, I have been going at least once a month and I don't even live in the neighborhood! The menu is simply and yummy, the service is very easy-going, and the place is cozy. I love everything about the place and cannot wait for the next visit.
great Italian food and cozy, unstuffy atmosphere. I have been goin to Piadina for years now and I just love it every time. The atmosphere is so quaint and darkly lit. The food has been astonishingly good for the price and the waiters are wonderful good-looking men who are happy to please. I can go here with my boyfriend for a quiet date or with a gaggle of friends for a birthday or whatever.
Not the best pizza in NYC, but excellent for this neighborhood. Went early on a Thursday, had no trouble getting a good table. Loved our pizzas, mojitos in a cafe glass, and best of all, sgroppino - that lemon/vodka frozen dessert drink I hadn't had since Italy '02. Keep your expectations low (its a pizza joint!) and you'll be very happy (big pizzas with interesting toppings, strong drinks, low lights, not very expensive) We even liked our sweet waiter.
Horrific customer service - Ruined a long-lasting relationship. I can honestly say in my 7 years of dining out in Manhattan that I have NEVER been treated so offensively than by the server and manager at Piadina. Story: I made a reservation for a party of 7 for the following Saturday evening at 6:30 pm. As we entered the restaurant we were told that we had an hour to eat in order for them to accommodate a reservation that they should never have accepted in the first place. As a former waitress for years, you just DON'T do this! At the end of our meal, they asked us if we were interested in dessert and we replied with a yes. After offering us the dessert menues, Piadina had the audacity to refuse to serve us and asked us to leave in order to turn over the table for next customers!Clearly, $$$ and table turn-over is much more important to them than customer retention! We even asked to speak to the manager who was speechless and unapologetic. This experience is very disappointing, because my boyfriend and I were regulars there and this was the first time we brought our friends with us. We were shocked, embarrassed and disappointed by the lack of professionalism of the employees at this establishment. I hope the owner reads this to understand how his employees are treating his customers.
