My favorite Sushi Bar in the city.. My favorite Sushi Bar in the city.

I live on Long Island, but whenever I get into the city, this is the place for me. I have been going there since they first opened as Godzilla Sushi.

The sushi is huge, hence the name "Monster Sushi", the price is reasonable and the service is always friendly.

For my money the quality of the fish is the best in the city, and I have been into sushi for 30 years.

I would highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a great sushi experience!

Long time customer,. Been coming to this restaurant for many years and love the food. I have tried everything from sushi & sashimi to all the cooked foods like negimaki & torikatsu. Never had a bad meal, always fresh. Great Place..

Very disappointed.... I went to this restaurant this week with my friend for dinner, and I got intoxicated with the sushi. I am sick for two days, I went to the doctor and apparently the salmon in the sushi was not fresh. Very disappointed...

Overrated..... I was super excited to finally try out Monster Sushi with a group of friends who recommended me to come here. When we arrived the place seamed dead, we waited for a few minutes before we were seated even though there was no other customers there! We all ordered our rolls and waited as the employees made our food. While the sushi guys were making out food two of them were on the phone the whole time which i found really annoying. When my rolls came I bit into my tuna roll and there was a bone! I decided to ignore this since it wasn't that big of a deal. When I reached for the soy sauce a roach crawled from under it and ran under the table! After that i couldn't finish my meal, we all decided to pay and leave....

Fresh Sushi. Love this place!

Monster is my neighborhood sushi place. It's very consistent; I always know that I'll get great service and fresh fish. The special rolls are awesome!

very fresh fish and a friendly staff. I have to say I wasn't a fan of sushi in the past, but now, I LOVE it! Fresh fish, friendly staff who recognize you, comfortable seating, and clean bathrooms! If I the restaurant I'm at has a messy or dirty bathroom, I shudder to think about the condition of a room we can't see, the most important one, the kitchen.

Oh, and what I love most about their service is that you are given hot towels to clean your hands with before the food arrives. Details like that go a long way for me.

Fun atmosphere, accommodating, great service, good prices, sake martinis are the bomb!. My friend and I recently celebrated our birthdays at Monster Sushi. I had never been there before, but after reading many positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot. They were extremely accommodating when booking the reservation and were flexible when we changed the number of people in our group. The service was absolutely fantastic. We actually arrived a little early and the table was already set up and available and we were seated right away. Throughout the meal, we were constantly being checked on, the orders were all correct, and everything was served in a timely manner. The prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and the portion of food. We had sashimi, a couple of the special rolls, and a few different vegetarian appetizers. The quality of the sushi was very good and the rolls were fantastic. (And the sake martinis were great!) Everyone had a great time, and I'd go back to Monster Sushi in a second.

Great Sushi. I have eaten in all three Monster Sushi Rest. The sushi is some of the best in the city. The cooked food is also to be considered. The Chilean Sea Bass is something that should not not be missed.

Grocery store sushi at near Blue Ribbon prices. My friend and I went to the one on Hudson. The tuna and salmon rolls were gummy and chewy, like the ones you get at the supermarket . Once we realized what the deal was, we agreed we were both embarrassed to be seen eating outside at this place. And for over $20 a person you can't help but wonder, how does a place like this stay open in NYC?

great sushi, great price. This is my favorite of all the monster sushi's I've dined at (I've been to 535 hudson & 46th st also). I've been there at least a dozen times. The pieces are pretty big; I always feel stuffed after eating the lunch special. Everything has always been VERY fresh; the rolls are HUGE - and sometimes they have toro! The service is usually very good. the ambiance is nice; nothing exceptional, but always pleasant.
