About Moran's Restaurant

Moran's is a destination restaurant offering traditional and contemporary American fare. With four distinct dining rooms, a classic cherry wood bar and a sidewalk cafe, Moran's makes all of our visitors comfortable - whether they're a party of two or two hundred.

Our landmark building dates to the early 1800s, when the surrounding neighborhood was bustling with tall ships and longshoremen. Our handcrafted bar survived prohibition, and our wainscoted walls and tin ceilings reflect a custom of comfort and quality. Today's resturant has been owned and operated by the same family for three generations.

Craving for more. The best steak I had ever eaten. It was on this restaurant. I could not forget that time. It was in the evening, I really hungry during that night and I was craving for a steak. The first choice I had in mind was Moran's Restaurant right away.

The place is so classical. I really liked the theme that was set up on the restaurant. It's like an Old fashioned restaurant. And I really liked it.

But most of all, what I like most is the steak. It's just simply fantastic. It was cooked to the finest. And now I am craving for more.

BEST PLACE IN CHELSEA. Last night my boyrfriend and I had dinner at Moran's and it was spectacular! The food was incredible for such reasonable prices and the service was warm, friendly and extremely attentive. The maganer as well as the waitress made us feel so welcome and gave us a beautiful seat next to the fireplace and waterford crystal. Absolutely beautiful decor. Definitley worth your visit!

Great place for a wedding. I recently photographed a beautiful wedding at Moran's and have to say I was really impressed with the room and the overall feel of the place. The back room is made for weddings and everything looked beautiful. The food was really outstanding and the staff was very pleasant to work with. I'd highly recommend it for weddings under 100 people (or however many they are suited for). You can view some of my photos through my blog which can be seen at danielkrieger(dot)com

A Chelsea Gem. My wife and I were looking for a place to get a drink after seeing a play nearby. We are not from NYC so we weren't expecting much. As we were walking by this quaint restaurant, we noticed a fireplace in the window. Being the middle of winter we were immediately drawn in.

Well, once we walked in, we were immediately greeted and had our coats taken and hung up. We were going to sit at the bar and just have a drink, but once you smell the food being cooked in the kitchen (which is open for all to see) you have no choice but to eat. And eat we did.

My wife and I both shared the fried Zucchini which is shoestring style. Light crispy and VERY addicting. We also shared the Mac and Cheese which is TO DIE FOR. As we weren't that hungry after all that, we then shared the Grilled Seafood. Which was so delicious and fresh. Lobster tail, Scallops,Salmon and Shrimp. All of my favorites.

We will definitely be coming back. Possibly just to eat here!

Irish Illusion. Appears warm, Irish. But has inhospitable manager. And be aware of mandatory service charge
