It's Time To Shut Down This Place!
by LadyM
A couple of years ago, this was the place to be if you wanted excellent Mexican food. They must have changed management or lost their deal with the devil because now this place is a DUMP! I can't believe this place has the guts to serve what theY do with a straight face! The salsa was embarrasing - slushy tomato paste with some cilantro. Are you serious? Then, the icing on the cake -- the server put my meal down with a warning of "it's a hot plate." So, of course I touched it and the plate was blazing hot. Why then, were the beans ICE COLD? Disgusting and, honestly, any Latino restaurant establishment that doesn't know enough to serve HOT beans should not be in business. My burrito was barely warm, and my lunch guest swore that her cheese was sour. It would've been great if there was a server around during our meal to complain to but it was 20 minutes before he reappeared. When I told him about the beans, he touched the underside of the plate and began to protest. He also denied that my friend's cheese was sour. ????? I told him the entire experience and food was unacceptable. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Tough Beef and Slop on a Plate
by tunatacogrande
Just had dinner at Maryann's and it was packed with people. They have far too many tables in the restaurant. I understand attempting to maximize the space, but it's ridiculous. We couldn't get up from our table without disturbing the couple dining next to us by asking them to get up to make space for our exit.
The crazy part about the fact that it was crowded is the food was absolutely horrible. It was basically Mexican slop on a plate. I order the beef fajitas. The beef was completely overcooked and it was a tough cut of meat to begin with. It was like chewing on beef jerky. Surrounding the tough beef and peppers & onions on the plate was a sloppy pile of rice, beans, guacamole, melted cheese and lettuce. Just one big mountain of slop. Even the tortillas were terrible. They broke in half the second they were filled with the slop.
I have NO idea why people go here. There are so many good Mexican restaurants within 10 blocks of Maryann's. I am completely bewildered.
If you enjoy tough beef and slop, you will love this place.

Always dependable, some interesting dishes, not expensive. Good for families or groups. Can be loud, but it's part of the festive atmosphere.
- Pros: Dependable for good food, affordable, good for parties
- Cons: Can be noisy
