Best power lunch and brunch!. This 8th Avenue corner bistro is perfect for a quick lunch and a relaxing Sunday Brunch. Although, I never have dinner here - my experiences on the other times were decent. I always have the Crab Cake from the appetizer list and it's big enough for an entree. For brunch, it's the Fried Oysters with Cheese Grits and Collard Greens with a Mimosa (Red Bull Mimosa if you prefer - depends on what kind of Saturday night you had.) The Fried Green Tomato sandwich was not available one time - which was unfortunate. However, for treating yourself to a quiet lunch and enjoyable brunch while people watching from the plate glass window - this can't be beat.

Great Lunch in NYC. Wanted a quick bite in the city on friday Nov 7th at 12:20. Had the Viceroy Burger (2), chicken sandwich and veggie sandwich. Very good. Waitors very attentive. Food delicious. 45 minute experience for 4 people. $50 bucks. Recommend to anyone.

Great space, good drinks. Catastrophically bad service.. Though generally speaking the people who work at Viceroy are pleasant enough, it can take hours to get in and out of there even when it's empty as the service is really poor. The food is pretty standard and they don't change up the menu often. The bar area is nice, and they make good cocktails, but once you sit down, be prepared for lots of waiting and often slightly screwed up orders. There aren't a lot of great spaces for group dinners in Chelsea, and this is a good space, but you may lose half your group before the check arrives.

so much for trying something new. food was definitely pre-made and simply heated and served. i ordered the stuffed chicken breast and potatoes, date had fish...both cold, drinks over prices, never again, especially with other better places near. check was like $120 for 2

Great afterwork bar. I just started a new job in the area and wanted to grab a drink after a particularly long day. We happened upon viceroy (i had never been there) and it is a great place. we relaxed, had some great drinks, and chatted it up with the very cute bartenders. i have to say that it was the perfect ending to a stressful day and exactly the atmosphere that i needed and was looking for. I will definitely return.

bad managerial experience. Went to lunch here for a burger. I live not far away and have been coming here for a while for their burgers at lunch, drinks in the evening, etc... Not a big fan of the food, but for a burger, it's not a bad place; except this time. I have decided to never go back there. This is why: burger came to table well-done instead of medium-rare as I had asked for. The waiter was adorable about it and sent it back with many apologies. Very nice guy. Then, it came back, fries were cold, ugh!, and the burger was burned on the outside and still grey on the inside. I picked at it but didn't eat it, and when he offered to send it back again, I told him the truth," I really don't have the time, but I have no intention of actually eating this. It's worse than the first time." He seemed distraught; again, really nice guy. He got the manager. The manager NEVER came to my table, but went back to the kitchen (the restaurant is barren at lunchtime, so all of this was in plain view) and apparently judged that I didn't deserve his attention. The waiter offered me dessert. Again, oh have I said this before? : NICE GUY. I told him thank you, but no time. I got the check. Everything was on it. I paid $11 for a totally failed burger experience. I asked to speak to the manager while leaving. He was nowhere to be found. I gave the waiter the great tip he deserved and asked him to tell his manager that I was a regular who will never set foot in his restaurant again.

Perfect Happy Hour. This bar is IDEAL for a great Happy Hour experience. I wouldn't go for anything but happy hour, though. Great food at ideal prices to share with friends. $5 cocktails and less for beer. They also have $20 pitchers of sangria, mojitos and more. Our waitress was such a doll and we got a round of free drinks too. Call ahead to reserve a table- no extra cost, but it's great to have a seat. The music was perfect and the DJ delivered great song after great song- perfect for singing along to while you're drinking and then dancing to after you've had too much. I will definitely come here again for happy hour- it was such a great time.

Waste of a good Restaurant venue.. It really is a shame. The Viceroy is located at an ideal spot in Chelsea and is a great looking location to sit down and have some food in nice surroundings. If only the food, serice or drinks were any good.

I think the staff must be trained to ignore the customers or maybe it's just that they're too busy looking at themselves in any shiny surface they come across. We went there for a quick lunch and a drink- bad idea. After 15 minutes at our table with only water we finally got some attention from the waiter who had been less than 18 feet away the whole time but had his back turned to us the whole time while chatting with the bartender. We were seated inside and only a few tables were occupied so it was not like they were busy.

The margaritas we got were so weak that we wonderred if they had forgotten to add any of the ingredients. 25 minutes after getting our drinks and placing our order we got our Artichoke with aioli dip. Seriously, a 3-year old could have done it better. It was completely overcooked AND cold. It was so dissapointing to have waited 40 minutes for something that tasted and looked like it had been made a couple of days earlier. If you want to go to a place with bad drinks, bad food and possibly the worst service in New York- then here's your place! If you want to enjoy going to a restaurant then Chelsea has a 100 better options within 8 blocks.

If this place was taken over by someone who cared about running a restaurant it could be "the" place to go in the neighborhood, until that happens (Or hell freezes over), go somewhere else.

Nice. The food, the service and the price great. Right up my alley. Its a good deal. Not as much ambience as Eatery but along the same lines. Relaxed atmosphere. Oh and there is this fab .... waiter(guy) with a walk that will make every woman envious. We r still talkin about him.

Love Brunch. Last Sunday, my wife and I met up with some friends at this joint they have been frequenting. It was the best brunch experience we have ever had. Loved everything about the place. The waitstaff was well trained and attentive. The space is beautiful but they need to turn the a/c down a bit; little too cool in the back area. I had Bamba chicken; don't know what this Bamba thing is but it was amazing. I'm hooked.
