Yum!. I love the 24-hour vibe. My lentil soup rocked and our waiter was so polite and generous in pouring our cheap wine! I just enjoy the whole atmosphere and am glad to see that NYC still has this type of place on every neighborhood corner. Don't go there expecting gourmet- it's a diner. But appreciate the huge menu and the most excellent pita bread!

Rude Manager. The worst place that I have been, particularly because of the manager. The chair I sat on had gum on it and my pants were soiled. Instead of saying sorry, the manager said that my pants were dirty because I threw food on the chair! Maybe he does this in his house! The food is not very good either. I'll never come back to this restaurant because the manager was rude. I recommend the other diner called Moonstruck that is across the street.

Good Value Food - Avoid Late Night. Very good value food - but there continues to be post club shootings outside the diner late night. Management has not beefed up uniformed security enough - place should be closed post midnight.

Shootout. On weekends from 3-6 AM, this diner turns into a club that attracts bad elements and periodically gunfire will erupt outside, most recently on Martin Luther King Day 2008. Unlike Moonstruck Diner just across 9th Ave, the Chelsea Square Restaurant refuses to close their doors during these hours because the money is more important than the safety of the neighborhood. Bon appetit, bring your bullet-proof vest!

A 24 hour diner - Yay!. Who doesn't love 24 hour shops? I dunno, but they're not me. Honestly, the food is nothing to write home about. It's standard diner fare. There is, however, a ton of selection. You can spend a good ten minutes just flipping through the pages. Still, you know that in the end you're probably just going to get some eggs, or maybe a burger and fries. They have a variant called "the fat boy" that's pretty good. If you're in Chelsea, drunk, and in need of a pick me up on a Saturday night, this is the place to go.

Gone downhill. I've been going to the Chelsea Square since it first opend -- at least twenty-five years ago (I live close by). I used to eat there a lot -- dinners were good, and breakfasts were great. But through the years, it has slowly declined (and gotten really expensive for a diner). I had breakfast there yesterday -- the pancakes were so-so, but the service was awful and the waiters were fighting amongst themselves. A very unpleasant experience.

Go somewhere else. I wrote a review a year and a half ago praises the Chelsea Square, but it definitely gone downhill. The last time I was there, I found a hair (!) in my tiramisu. I brought it to the attention of the manager who brought me another dessert. When we got the bill, they'd charged for BOTH! I had to argue with them to get them to take off the tiramisu I couldn't even eat and they refused to comp the second dessert even as a courtesy. The service has gotten slow and the food just isn't so good anymore. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

WORTH IT!!!!!!. This is the spot for a great meal, with regards to portions and quality! ! I usually dont eat seafood at diners..but here it was UNBELIEVABLY tasty and FRESH!.. I'm a regular there... and I always enjoy my meals there.

passable for a grilled cheese. The word here is bland--there's nothing gourmet about this all-purpose Greek diner, where the servers are uncomprehending and the ancient hostess hates you, no matter who you are. Stick with the basics (and stay away from the extra un-salty matzo ball soup) and you'll get a good value--eggs, burgers, fries and coffee won't disappoint. Point is, you can sit here all day watching Chelsea's parade of dogs outside and no one will care. That, in NY, is priceless.
