Finally a buritto I can eat with my hands!

by Fejj at Citysearch

Got a chicken burrito for $8.66. It was really good and was the size of a small handbag.

I used to get burritos like this from other places and they would fall apart if you tried to eat them by hand...no worries here!

  • Pros: Big Portions, quick service
  • Cons: not cheap

More mediocrity -- "California style"? What else?

by bamilt0 at Citysearch

I'm sooo tired of "California style" Mexican food shops serving tasteless Watsonville burritos at inflated prices. I wanted a little cheese on a single pork taco (salty and gummy) and was charged extra to bring the total to nearly $4.50. For one taco. I hate to say it because I'd like the local guy to beat out the corporate chain, but in the case, just go up to Chipolte on 6th Ave and get something you can justify the cost.

  • Pros: Near my job, not corporate.
  • Cons: Everything else.

Mexican food made by REAL Mexicans...

by manhattan25 at Citysearch

... That's the Uncle Moe's logo!! I've been going to Uncle Moe's in Park Slope, Brooklyn for years but now that I've moved back to the city, I was thrilled to find they had a location right near U.Square! The food is unbelievable and well prepared - esp. the vegetarian burrito and cheese enchiladas... Top it off with a tamarindo drink and you're in Mexican heaven...

the food is top notch--i like to have grilled corn and the zucchini added to my chicken burritto. it's a fun place to eat--a magnet for super-cute guys who work in the hood, so a treat for the eyes as well as the tummy

  • Pros: inexpensive
