“We love sitting in the tiny front patio when it's warm enough; on cooler nights, the indoor seating is cozy and relaxing.”
“The mergezzes sausages are wonderful, the kibbies, the vigne leaf wraps, the hummus, the spinach pies, lamb pies and the pita bread is always fresh and even the desserts are good.”
“Salam is a place to go for incredibly good food, wine, middle eastern decor and respite from the hustling world of New York.”
“Nice meal”
“It's good, maybe really good; but nothing about the menu, decor, value, or service says "excellent”
“If the food weren't so good, I would never go back to this place again.”
“recommend Salam but I'm not running to go back, especially considering I'm not local to the neighborhood; and I seriously question anyone who gives this place 5 stars.”
“Although the service is not always fast enough, the food is wonderful.”
“reasonably priced wine list makes this a great place for a not too expensive night out that will make you feel like you treated yourself!”
“The service is very slow, and you will have to wait a long time whenever you want to get the watier's attention.”
A favorite when we visit New York. This is often the first place we go for dinner when we visit New York. We've tried almost everything on the menu and it's all been exceptional. We love sitting in the tiny front patio when it's warm enough; on cooler nights, the indoor seating is cozy and relaxing.
Mia was a very good waiter. What made it unique was how they decorated the restaurant and how Mia was. He was nice and kind to me. I say he was the best waiter in the restaurant . 4 stars to Mia
Great Place For Good Food And Service For Mia. Mia is a great server. He served me the best food.I enjoyed everything.I am going to eat there often.I loved the steak and kabab he served me.
We loved Maza.
Went here last night, wife and I both ordered the Maza with meat, which basically consisted of a little of everything of their appetizer selection. On one hand none of the dishes really stood out, but collectively everything was really good and made for an excellent meal. Also $19/person seemed reasonable considering how much food we were served.
I recommend Salam but I'm not running to go back, especially considering I'm not local to the neighborhood; and I seriously question anyone who gives this place 5 stars. It's good, maybe really good; but nothing about the menu, decor, value, or service says "excellent"...besides the Maza
My favorite middle-eastern place in new york city. Although the service is not always fast enough, the food is wonderful. I always have lots of appetizers instead of an entree. The mergezzes sausages are wonderful, the kibbies, the vigne leaf wraps, the hummus, the spinach pies, lamb pies and the pita bread is always fresh and even the desserts are good. The best part of Salam for me are the prices , it s more than affordable so i recommend going in groups and getting lots of appetizers, u won t be sorry......
great middle eastern food, great place to have a party. I was recently a guest at a party at this very charming middle eastern restaurant. we had great food and great drinks, the pomegranite martinis were delicious. we had many delicious appetizers, including smoky babaganouj and garlickly hommos and spicy little merguez sausages. my main course was a delicious fillo pie stuffed with curried chicken and rice. i tasted my friends lamb chops and they were wonderful. everyone had a great time. try this place
BEST MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD IN NEW YORK!!. Salam not only has great food, but the atmosphere matches very well to that of the middle east. Service is prompt and courteous, and as the banner says, the food is the best around. The dishes served over rice are fantastic- lamb, chicken, beef, ground lamb, and seafood items are all available. The falafel is crisp and tasty, as are all of the other appetizers. Everything good about Salam!! Give it a try and you will not be disappointed!!
Good at first, not to last. The first time I tried this restaurant I was totally thrilled by the taste and quality of the food. Quickly, it became one of my favorite take-out places. The vegetable Ouzi reamins a personal favorite, I still highly reccomend it (especially for vegetarians looking to spice things up). However things did come slightly burned a couple of times, and lately the look of the food is far from apetizing. It seems that the more you order, the worst it gets- at least this was my personal experience. Also, you get less food if you're having dinner there. It seems like the luck of the draw when it comes to this place.
great food / good service / just small portions. there was a good atmosphere to this restaurant, you really felt as if your eating in a middle eastern restaurant. the waiters were very friendly and recommended the best dish in the house. if you go order the lam chop with corinda ! (it was really good) and ask for mia, he was a wonderful server ( told me what to look out for in the menu). over all i would recommend this place to my friends for a nice casual dinner in a pleasant atmosphere. Its something differnt from all the other hussle and bussle restaurant you go to in the city. you can actually sit down and relax without someone timing the amount of time it takes for you to finish your dinner.... also FYI try the ouzi... it sounds weird but its a great meal wrap very exotic.
Nice meal. While the service was a little slow and the meal may take a bit longer because it's made to order, I still enjoyed it and think it was worth the wait.
