“Intermezzo has good food but slow service.”
They refuse to accept promotions they put out blaming on the past company. Very bad business. Although the food is good they lost as a customer. That's the 3rd time they said they won't accept a current promotion.
I bought a Groupon for a dinner for two
at this place for $55. When I got there, there was a girl outside with a sign begging people to enter inside for a same deal for $15.95/person.
When I mentioned that my Groupon is much more expensive for basically same deal, I was brutally pushed away and denied access or service by middle-eastern looking person that claimed he's the manager. This bizarre occurrence happened on Friday evening in middle of Manhattan sidewalk while my fiance watching amazed from a side. I felt like in Argo movie on Iranian street. Needless to say that such conduct by a merchant is unacceptable in US of A. I'm considering legal steps.
In case you feel like sponsoring empty, bad wishing, nasty place managed by anti western values or customer service code bullies, you are welcome to try this place. Good luck.

HORRENDOUS. Experience was EXTREMELY disappointing. We had a 5:30 reservation on a Sun. and evidently some of the brunch crew were still lingering. We were the only people in the restaurant aside from a rowdy, loud, drunk, inappropriate group. They were SO loud you could not even focus on reading the menu, nevermind have a conversation. When we asked the waiter to ask them to quiet down, you could tell he knew them and was unwilling to handle it himself. He seemed to be discussing what to do with another employee,or the manager, but they didn't respond promptly-we ended up walking out. This may be an isolated event, but the fact that a restaurant would even allow people to behave this way in their establishment would be reason not to go back or recommend to others.Too bad, b/c the menu looked pretty good.
Loved the place. One saturday night my boyfriend and I decided to go to a comedy club in the area..We had a couple of hours to waste so started to look for a nice place to have dinner while walking down 8th avenue..Intermezzo came into a view and we decided to give it a try. First of all the mojitos were to die for...I got the strawberry one and my bf got the mango one and both were really good...We shared some muscles for the appetizer and they were delicious..Our entries were really good too.. I got the stuffed chicken and my bf got the veal if I remember correctly as it was a few months ago...And then we go the bill: two drinks each, one appetizer and two entries cost 70 bucks.. Can you believe it? and the food was good, the service was good, the music was good and the ambiance was great as well...Great Place...will be back.
When you walk in there it look like beeing in Italy.
I Thing is the best italian small restaurant in the City. The food is great especially the Lasagna. I do not thing you can find anything near as good as Angolo a sud.
Averageon price is realy good too .I went last week to try just opposite the focaccia of Spianata, honestly nothing to compare. When you walk in there it look like beeing in Italy. Over all Really nice!!!!!!.
Terrible service, mediocre food. Visited for brunch on a Saturday afternoon to the worst service I've had in the city. The female waitress took about 15-20 minutes to come to our table to take a drink order. She recommended we get the "all you can drink bloody mary's and mimosas for $12 and a two hour limit." It was around 3:00 and she failed to mention it ended at 4:00. I finished my first drink and waited until about 3:50 until the waitress was to be found to order another. She was in the corner texting on her phone ignoring my glances at her. She never once asked us how our food was, if we need new drinks, water, bread, etc...She never even said hello when she approached our table. She greeted us with a, "are you ready?" We responded with a yes, for drinks. Eventually she disappeared and someone else finished waiting on our table. I assume it was a shift change. The male server we inherited wasn't much better. I wouldn't go here if I were you. There are so many places that are so much better for the same price.
Fantastic Homemade Lasagna and the food has a lot of flavor. This is a great Italian restaurant. The Lasagna and other pasta I've had is great. You can even request whole wheat pasta if you're in a healthy eating mood. Enjoy!
Delicious.
The food is just amazing... I highly recommend for a romantic date night, a first date, or a nice cozy family dinner..
The place is really cute. The people are really nice and accomodating. I cant wait to go back here again
very good food. I ate here last nite and the food was very good and not expensive like other Italian restaurants in Chelsea.I had the veal with proscutto and fontina cheese with mushrooms. For dessert I had the tiramisu. On the way out Chris the host said, you can t leave without having a biscotti,he gave me two.The service was good.I will return.
