“It's a cute, clean, basic place to sleep, and the neighborhood and location are terrific if you're planning to spend time in the Village.”
“This is a great place for the price.”
“Friendly and helpful staff.”
“The Larchmont Hotel in Greenwich Village was perfect because it was inexpensive--roughly $100 per night and the location is beautiful.”
A cozy Euro-style hotel in a Euro-feeling part of town..
The Scene
This smallish hotel, located on a quiet tree-lined West Village street, is a great bargain. The lobby is small and nicely decorated, but not conducive as a common space for guests to gather and relax in. But why would anyone want to linger inside when the most gorgeous part of the city is right outside the door?
The Details
All 63 rooms have shared bathrooms. Amenities include cable TV, air conditioning, ceiling fans and private washbasins. A cotton robe and slippers are provided. There's also a mini library and writing desk. The complimentary breakfast includes fresh-baked goods. The staff is multi-lingual.
quaint. The building is beautiful and they offer you ammenities, such as soft slippers, a bathrobe, and breakfast, but when making reservations, make sure you write down every contact you have someone on their staff. This includes, confirmation numbers and the nam of the person whith whom you spoke. They messed up our reservations and we ended up having to switch hotels. We probably would have enjoyed staying longer.
A little jewel. This hotel is located in a quiet(really!) tree-lined residential neighborhood in Greenwich Village. Located between 5th and 6th Avenue. The hotel is inside a converted Brownstone. I stayed in a room with a twin bed - Ok with me since I was alone. The room is very small though. Room includes a sink. Shared bathrooms are very clean and cleaned often. Room was very clean. There is no cable and TV reception is poor to non-existant. I payed about $80.00 a night - week nights during the fall. Close to restaurants, shops, stores. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value.
Can't beat the location.
This is a great place for the price. It's a cute, clean, basic place to sleep, and the neighborhood and location are terrific if you're planning to spend time in the Village. It's also walking distance to Soho and the East Village.
The obvious downside is the shared bath, but they were clean and always available.
