Another fabulous cut by Brian

OK. So, I see here that I'm not the only one that loves Brian. Not surprising. I have been going to Brian since 2006 and have never had anything other than an amazing hair cut and overall hair care treatment. I have long thick hair that has changed for a variety of natural and artificial reasons over that period of time. Through it all, the one constant is that it can be tamed and beautified by Brian.

Some of the things I love about getting my hair cut at Antonio Prieto salon by Brian:

(1) no matter what my mood going in, I always leave feeling like a million bucks;

(2) Brian manages to give me a cut that looks fantastic but is also incredibly low maintenance. I don't blow dry my hair nor do I use product; nonetheless, the cut stands on its own, requiring no maintenance on my part between cuts.

(3) Brian is totally no pressure and creates a very calming, relaxing experience. Brian is down-to-earth, interesting, nice, funny, and smart. While it's lovely to talk to him, there's no pressure to have non-stop small talk for the entire 90+ minute. It's very relaxed and I can totally zone out and just enjoy the treatment if that's the mood I'm in.

(4) Brian is totally professional. As noted above, my hair has changed a lot over the past 5+ years. I can count on getting unbiased, accurate, experienced advice no matter what my issue. And, it's *never* about trying to sell me whatever new product is being sold in the salon.

Generally, I love the salon but my experience at Antonio Prieto is all about the professional services provided by Brian Zinno.

My sister was Brian's client before me, she recommended him when I moved to the city. I can be a little "thrifty" so I hesitated, but since I began having him cut my hair 5 years ago, I feel there is no other hairdresser that compares and I've been going (back) to him ever since!

I have swayed here and there over the years trying a cheaper, trendy, more local salon, but I always find myself going back to Brian to have fixed what another stylist tried...

I have long wavy hair and my hair always feels healthy and beautiful when I leave. Not sure if it's just in my head, but I feel like heads are turning my way after an hour with Brian! His cut also grows out well, which serves me well when I struggle to get back on schedule and am tempted by those more local deals...

Brian is a wonderful hairdresser...a keeper!... and I worry what will happen if I ever move away from him... :)

I love antonio prieto salon

I have been a client of Antonio Prieto Salon for several years now and for the most part, I have NEVER had a problem and have always been satisfied beyond my expectations. The salon is gorgeous, comfortable, well kempt, and the staff is awesome!

I specifically get my hair styled by Brian who is the MOST AMAZING stylist I have ever had. I am ver particular about my hair and it is not easy to work with (very long, think etc), and every time I leave there, I feel like a new super model lol. Although unemployed at the moment, I will not make an exception when it comes to the salon. If need be, I will give up some things in order to go to the best salon in NYC!

Ben and Brenna are the best

I'm so happy I found this place. It's a beautiful, well run salon with a wonderful associate's program. For a discounted price, you can see stylists in training who are MUCH more talented than most professional stylists in the city. I've been seeing Ben for highlights and Brenna for haircuts for about two years. I wouldn't go to anyone else. (They'll both graduate from the training program soon, which makes me sad--but they deserve it.)

Brenna consistently gives exquisite haircuts and blowouts. She's also crazy knowledgeable about the best ways to care for your hair. She convinced me to upgrade my shampoo and conditioner and to use a Kerastase hair mask every two weeks or so--and my hair is no longer a dry, unruly mess.Thank God. She also happily shares styling tips with you, going above and beyond what's required of stylists. It's clear she's very passionate about what she does.

Ben is fabulous--my highlights always look perfect. He came up with a beautiful combination of blond tones that looks incredibly natural, which is important to me. He's also so much fun to talk to. I've never been one to chat with my stylist, but I have a great time with Ben and always look forward to seeing him. He also goes above and beyond, and will do whatever it takes to make your hair look just like you want it to.

Everyone at the salon is nice and friendly and extremely well dressed. In response to previous comments: I always get a little massage when my hair is shampooed, and a hair coloring does include a rough dry. Once, I tried to blow-dry my hair myself, and Brenna saw me struggling and came over to help me.

They also offer free cappuccinos, tea, and coffee!

Jen and Danica are a great team for cut/color!

I've been going to Antonio Prieto for about a year now. When I was first going my hair was in really bad shape and pretty fried (thanks to another salon). Jen was great and respected that I was still trying to maintain length even though I needed to get the dead ends off. She is the only stylist in NYC that I've been to who listens to what you actually want. The cut always looks great. Most salons just give you the same cookie cutter bs cut but Jen is patient and makes sure she gets what you want. She introduced me to Danica for color and I'm obsessed. They both recommended kerastase for my hair and it has totally worked. I wouldnt go to anyone else in the city.
