DR. JUNG - Best Optometrist in NYC by Far. Finding an educated, competent, caring medical professional is the hardest task a person will encounter (especially when it involves the well being of a person). Once you find that professional, not only do you entrust your life to that person, but you feel a great deal of satisfaction and care free attitude in your life knowing should a problem arise, you immediately know where to turn.

Dr. Jung is the type of medical professional which I referenced above. He is competently thorough in his examinations, and takes the time to answer any questions and uncertainties you may have. To leave an appointment feeling refreshed and satisfied should be enough reason to make an appointment with Dr. Jung.

Not only is Dr. Jung extraordinary, his staff is very cordial and seem to know all their patients by name. If the doctor is running a couple of minutes behind, the staff gives updates because they are cognizant enough to know your time is worth something. They know that the key to a successful business is customer service. To be part of a practice not only with professional doctors, but staff as well is a rare combination.

Dr. Jung, on his own volition, was curteous enough to give me tips in keeping my vision in tip top shape. I was concerned with a bump in my eyelid which he took care of during my visit and even followed up with a call because he knew how distressed I was during my visit. He made me feel like family member, and for that reason alone I will be faithful to him as a patient.

I also love the fact that the office utilizes advanced technological equipment, which shows me, that they spare no costs to their patients. I have been to facilities where they use archaic technology, and even had to walk out of a doctor's office enough because I could not trust their competency.

I would recommend Dr. Jung foremost and Metropolotan Vision Correction Associates if you need a great optometrist, and want exceptional service. You definitely won't be sorry.

Great Service at what $cost?. I was a patient with Metropolitan Vision Correction for the last three years and was content with my eye doctor. She explained examinations and issues with eyes. Dr. was very friendly and professional. My biggest issue was that I've just found out that my doctor was no longer an "in network provider'' with my coverage. The receptionist never mentioned that they were not an "in network provider with Eyemed. For the last 1 1/2 yrs. I was paying fees that I was told included my coverage discounts. Claim forms I was told was not needed because they would bill my Insurance coverage for the difference. After calling Eyemed for ques. about my benefits coverage I was made aware that no claims have been made by Metropolitan Vision Correction since 2008!!. My last 4 visits which equaled fees way over $1000 were paid out of my pockets and no claim was ever filed. I am very disppointed and I suggest that anyone using their insurance checkup that claims are being reported. You may end up like me believing that all these so called % discounts taken off are just a bunch of bologna!!

BTW...had to mention that I wanted to order my contacts online to save some money and the staff refused to verify any information of prescriptions with online representatives, whose procedure is to verify prescriptions with Dr.

Search No Longer.... I have been seeing Dr.Jung for several years now and have had only the best service. I have never had to wait for my appointment and have only been treated with extra special care. It is nice to actually have a doctor that will listen to you and take the extra 5 minutes to actaully talk to you. I highly recommend Dr. Jung to anyone who appreciates great service from their doctor.

NYC's BEST Optometrists. Facility is very accessible near Union Square. Dr. Arthur Jung is a wonderful eye doctor (the best optometrist)...great listener, performs very thorough examination and takes the time to explain the findings with the available options for treatment/solutions. I will be going here for the rest of my life!

great optometrists. This is an incredible office and I'll tell you why. Its convenient, the doctors are educated and I love the fact that they have the latest equipment to make sure they get the most accurate results. I've had excellent experience with Dr. Jung. He is always professional and also is great about explaining what is going on with my eye in terms that a normal person would understand. Unlike my PCP who is constantly spewing medical terms I can't pronounce and rushing me out before I can ask all my questions. And if you need eyeglasses, just ask Sabrina. Yes the office is busy, but your eyes are worth it.

great service. I've been to many eye doctors and Dr Jung is the best there is.

Not too many doctors these days are friendly, caring, through with diagnosis, and on time with appointments. One of my biggest pet peeves is having to wait longer than 15 minutes for an appointment, and I have never had to wait this long or at all for that matter. My doctor may look young but age for me is not a factor on how well they can do their job. He is better than some of the old doctors I used to go to.

I always felt relaxed and comfortable. Never felt rushed so he can see his next client. I felt that he gave me the time and patience to hear out my problems and fixed them. He is a doctor that genuinely loves to help people. I'm glad I found a doctor who is great at what he does and is also nice.

Great Service, Care and Staff. I left this review on YELP first.

The Doctors, service and staff here are all great. Check in was very easy, the front desk already had my vision and medical insurance checked before I got there. And YES I agree you need your medical insurance because unlike other places I have gone, this place will take there time to carefully check your eyes for eye problems, not just glasses. They have the greatest instruments, most I have never seen before. Dr. Jung found that my eye pressure was high and my optic nerves looked a little suspicious for glaucoma. He did a nerve test that showed it was normal and found that my pressure was high because my cornea was thick. It was explained very clearly and I was so relieved. I spent over an hour in the office, there was a wait but not unreasonable, I never felt rushed, and I got perfect glasses.

Negatives: The wait can be long, there are a lot of patients there, it's always full. But that might be saying a lot for this place, they seem to be in high demand!

I highly recommend this place, the wait is worth it! you only get your eyes checked once a year, what's one or two hours of your time. I've been to many eye doctors and this one is by far the best experience.

Poor Service - Still waiting. I am still waiting on an order I placed over a month ago and I haven't been given an honest answer as to when my glasses will arrive. I'm incredibly frustrated with the service and no one has mentioned anything about a discount. I won't be returning here again.

dr nevins. This office literally saved me - through the lengthy examinations and tests that some complain about, a life-threatening and sight-threatening brain condition was discovered which was overlooked by other doctors. Years later, Dr Nevins also discovered the beginning of a detached retina in my husband's eye. This kind of thoroughness cannot be overstated!

Excellent optometrists. I have been seeing Dr. Nevins and his colleagues for 28 years. No, that is not a misprint. I have always received excellent care. My only complaint is the one other reviewers have commented on, namely long waiting times on occasion. In my experience, this is the rare exception rather than the rule. For example, I saw Dr. Jung on August 14, 2008, and even though I was late for my appointment, he saw me right away. He gave me a thorough exam and explained the results to me carefully. I've had the same experience of receiving great care from Drs. Goldstein and Behan, and I always receive high quality care from Dr. Nevins, the optometrist I've known for the longest time. Everyone in the office is pleasant and helpful and the fees are very reasonable.
