The Scene – This Pan-Asian Soho spot is as popular as ever, attracting swank crowds of shoppers, tourists and neighborhood office workers decked out in designer duds. The minimalist, airy room is a triple-threat: teashop, noodle bar and Asian grocery all in one, with exposed-brick walls, casual plastic cups and a visible kitchen. – – The Food – Dishes hail from China, Vietnam, Korea and Thailand, and the combos, which include spring rolls, chicken satay, dumplings and duck pancakes, allow you to sample a bit of each country's cuisine. 1. It is so good, I came back after work on a date for dinner, it changes, it is full service and they have a full bar with great cocktails, we had lots of pomagranite margaritas to go with our pad thai and korean beff dishes.
  2. (not the pad thai though) The drink list was comprehensive (including cocktails, margarita, and sakes) and I highly recommend the Strawberry and Pineapple cocktail plus the last sake on the list.
  3. Never been for dinner or drinks, but K&P's lunches are perfect for fast food without the usual yuck.
  4. cocktails are really good too.
  5. Even though they have tons of great teas, I prefer the sweet delight of the 'vietnamese coffee' they are great!
  6. went at 8:30, and had to wait 15 min for a table, but they had a bar with great "homemade" cocktails, drinks with ginger and mint in them, they are great.
  7. thoroughly enjoyed the noodles and hot tea.
  8. If it weren't for my previous PARTY commitment, I'd have stayed the night for another hot toddy, beer and whatever great GIANT bowl of soup the bartender picked for me.

A Little bit of Everything

by Wrabbit at Citysearch

I have been coming here for years. Just love the food. I've had huge bday parties or just intimate more personal dinners with friends many times.

Lunch time it's similar to when you order on the streets in Asia... you order and they scream at you when it's done... except I know they washed the dishes here. def. try the malaysian or bangkok curry noodles or the duck broth with duck and wontons.

Dinner time it's dim lighting. sometimes too dark.

BUT I love the duck salad, scallion pancakes, and s&p shrimp (even though they fry it with the shell ~ eat it while it's hot), bulgogui, ribs, tamarind duck, massaman curry is good, but I liked it with the chicken and avacado, love the chicken with this papaya salad. cocktails are really good too.

I pretty much love everything. the only thing is the kitchen is opened so the smell of food kind of lingers in my hair, but a spray of perfume usually gets rid of it. one time I went out and this guy said... you smell like food and making me hungry!!!! hahaha

oh, and there's only one bathroom... sooo wait in line... def makes sure you lock the door. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but I always open the door on someone... can't get enough of this place.

  • Pros: it's tasty and they can change dishes to vegetarian
  • Cons: 1 bathroom?

This Place Saved Super Bowl Night!

by Gromit at Citysearch

This past Sunday, late and hungry, I had to get some snacks for a SuperBowl Party. While walking down my friend's street looking for a place to buy pizza, I saw this place. If it weren't for my previous PARTY commitment, I'd have stayed the night for another hot toddy, beer and whatever great GIANT bowl of soup the bartender picked for me. Something with the word Malasya in it.

It warmed me up while I waited for the AWESOME scallion pancakes and spring rolls I took to the party.

The Saints were not the only ones to score that night.

  • Pros: Great Spring Rolls and Awesome Soup

worst food ever

by chefkitty at Citysearch

I just have to say for the price, this is about the worst Asian food I ever had in my life. The dumplings were ALL dumpling and a sliver of shrimp inside... and their pricey calamari salad was a small bowl of lettuce with some sliver of carrots, drenched in dressing, and some small overcooked fried gross calamari. I am completely amazed that this place was busy, thinking the location is what is saving this establishment from utter ruin. One word: YUK!

  • Pros: best SoHo location, cool casual ambience
  • Cons: worst food ever

Great place for large groups.

by muppykisses at Citysearch

Had dinner on a Saturday night with a group of about 10 people. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken immediately. Our group shared about 15 dishes in total and it was the perfect amount of food for everyone. Wine menu was limited but well chosen, and their cocktails were that lethal combination of tasty and potent. The best thing about Kelley and Ping was the excellent service. Our food arrived quickly and our glasses were never empty yet we never felt rushed and were perfectly comfortable lingering over our after dinner drinks. We would definitely go there again!

  • Pros: Excellent service, wonderful drinks
  • Cons: Limited wine selection

Not the best, but not the worst

by everyelliot at Citysearch

This place isn't amazing, but by all means not as bad as the reviews portray it. I can't help but say that their Vietnamese noodles are some of my favorite. Always filling, generally quick delivery, reasonable prices. Their pad thai, on the other hand, is unusually disgusting.

  • Pros: Vietnamese Noodles
  • Cons: Pad Thai
