Subdued rock-wear for slim alternafolk. – The Scene
Dublin-native Daryl Kerrigan created the slim, boot-cut, low-slung pants that have been knocked off a gazillion times since the the mid-'90s. She's still turning out urban, rocker-ready fashions, now with a slightly more luxe feel (look for the pants in feminine velvet). Her spacious store boasts a warm, chatty staff, seemingly imported from nearby CBGB's, and a comfortable, downtown vibe.
Pants are still the thing here, but truth be told, Kerrigan's boy-cut trousers only work on the slim of hip. Girls with curves should look to the shop's few dresses--well-cut and in lush, heavy fabrics--or sift through the '70s-reminiscent knit tops and inexpensive slogan T-shirts. For the men: A small selection of pants, jackets and shirts that would be equally appropriate for casual Fridays or Bowery Ballroom.
