Editorial Review for The Hat Shop – by Lisa Marie Rovito
The Scene
"Who's the fairest of them all?" asks the mirror on the wall of this ladylike shop where sweet and stylish owner Linda Pagan will help you find a hat that makes you shout, "I am! It's me!" Once a Wall Street broker, the English-accented Pagan now whiles away her days measuring heads and demonstrating to society women and Texas tourists alike that you can change your look just by changing your hat. "See?" she coos, strutting, with a kittenish expression.
The Goods
Working with up to 30 milliners at a time guarantees a variety of styles, from sunhats to cocktail party get-ups. And with prices starting at $20 for a beret (okay, so they go up to $600 for an over-the-top number just teeming with feathers, but most average out just over $200), it's been said they're the perfect accessory for a recession.

This is not like the snooty Upper East Side hat shops that pretend you aren't there unless you have 5 grand of clothing on your back. But the hats are just as chic, they make to order for all sizes and shapes (yes, your head has a shape) and the service is fabulous. The place to go for all your chapeaux. And believe me as I never go out in the sun without a wide brimmed hat.

The Hat Shop has my head size on file which makes it very easy to get a hat anytime should I need one. I have been shopping there for the last 12 years and have received only the BEST service possible. I have also called several times and no one has ever been "snooty" at all. Perhaps GRAY BISHOP was having a bad day when he or she called the shop. Maybe Gray Bishop had the attitude problem and was expecting the salesperson to jump through fire for he or she. Every story has 2 sides however, The Hat Shop could not have survived 12 years with nasty or snooty service.
Pros: great service
Cons: sometimes closed on Monday's
