Editorial Review for Blue Bag – by Mina Hochberg
The Scene
This Nolita boutique, opened in 1999 by Marnie and Pascal Legrand, introduced a Mom-and-Pop version of upscale to the neighborhood. The rustic door invites you into a room with brick walls and tastefully sparse decor. Marnie Legrand buys only from independent designers, and in small quantities, so you'll probably never find the same bag anywhere else.
The Goods
You'll find simple, handmade bags for all occasions, from casual to evening, made up of quality suedes, leathers and other materials. With one or two stand-out details to lend each bag character, the styles make statements without begging for attention. Look out for a new selection every few weeks.

I've been going to Blue Bag since I discovered it 4 years ago, and have yet to be disappointed. They always have a rapidly revolving selection of purses, none of which you'll see anywhere else. Service is fantastic, and the bags, although not cheap, are still reasonably priced for the quality and design, and much more affordable than some of the other bags in the neighbourhood. I would recommend this store without hesitation.
Pros: Excellent selection, High quality
