Editorial Review for A.P.C. – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Simple and chic, the Soho store perfectly mirrors the aesthetic of the clothes. Impeccably dressed downtown shoppers peruse the men's and women's collections displayed among hardwood floors and clean white walls. The style is subtle and decidedly urban; think thin-striped sweaters, slim-fit jeans, pleated skirts and dresses in colors like grey, black and brown. Don't forget to check out the collection of jewelry by Waris and the array of CDs.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThe hardwood floor has gaps and is a bit uneven, so if you're wearing heels you might want to watch your step.

You shouldn't shop here for two reasons. 1) Apart from the more petite dude wearing the nerdy-chic glasses, most of the sales staff has too much attitude for their own good. 2) Most of A.P.C.'s clothing is actually made in Tunisia. I have a sweater that was made in China. The quality probably isn't too bad, but you shouldn't have to pay that much for stuff that was made in places where people make peanuts for each article of clothing they sew. A.P.C. is Parisian-chic, by way of, you know, the developing world. You would do much better at stores like Steven Alan and UNIS, both located in NoLita, five minutes from SoHo, which both feature similarly-chic, understated clothes at similar prices. All of UNIS's clothes is made in Italy; Steven's shirts are American-made, I believe.

APC jeans fit very well and are extremely comfortable. The items tend to be on the conservative side, but there are a few standouts. I think they raised the prices on the jeans, which is unfortunate because it is hard to find a good pair of jeans under $150 (most the jeans are 150-180. Maybe its the currency exchange rate.
