In Short – This two-floor urban-style store has all the sneaker brands you know, including Nike, Puma, Timberland, Adidas, Converse and New Balance, as well as cult-fan lines like Diodora, Fred Perry and Ecco. Can't find the right size or color anywhere else? With a large, full stockroom, chances are Transit's got it, plus plenty of knowledgeable, easy-to-spot staff roaming around, just waiting to help. And though known for sneaker selection, shoes aren't the only hot ticket at Transit-- check out casual threads from Northface, Sean John, Enyce and Rocawear.
Great Service, Great Prices, Great Selection
by chicasduran at Citysearch
My husband was looking for a northface jacket that was trendy yet afordable. We visited many spots in North Jersey (west new yorks Bergenline) as well as uptown NYC (Washington Heights) but no luck with the prices being afordable. We decided to just head down to chinatown and look for other things. We got there and someone told us to go to Transit on Broadway and boy were we just extatic when we went in. The jackets were 60% off and the person helping us helped my husband find the right sizes in different styles, shoes to match as well as pleasing my husband with a matching shirt and sweater. GREAT SERVICE leaves a lasting impression. I constantly heard the people working if anyone else needed help, could they help with anything at all. Great service, great prices, Happy customers.
- Pros: Great selection, Great staff
- Cons: Needs a website
Surly, miserable and bad-tempered

Could this store have the worst service in Manhattan? Quite possibly. Staff who seem to think that a request to try on a pair of sneakers is akin to ordering them to drown a puppy.
A 40 minute attempt to buy a single pair of sneakers ended in our leaving the store empty handed as one of the pair had disappeared. This fact eventually communicated to us via a series of barely comprehensible grunts.
- Cons: Service, Miserable Staff, Long Wait
