“Nice atmosphere”
“met some friends of mine for brunch one Saturday at Five Points Restaurant, located near the Bowery section of the East Village, where the five of us enjoyed churros and decadently rich Mexican hot chocolate before our scrumptious meals.”
“we had to pay full price because we sat down at a table, he also said the oysters served at the bar were "different" then the ones served in the restaraunt (prob from the hudson river).”
“We loved Five Points- great atmosphere, great service, and really terrific food.”
“Great atmosphere, creative menu, friendly staff, the whole nine.”
“all in all a nice brunch place to chill with friends/family/date in a nice area close to shopping SoHo.”
“I'm fortunate enough to regularly sample NYC's best restaurants at business dinners, but I always come back to Five Points.”
“The food is never bad, and even though the place is crowded, the service is outstanding.”
“Excellent food for a really fair price.”
“yummy brunch, service a bit slow”
Fantastic bloody mary's. This place is great for brunch and dinner - the food is exceptional and affordable and the bloody mary's are amongst the best in the city.
Great atmosphere and service, you must eat the french toast!. The brunch is not that expensive as some may think. The atmosphere is extremely clean and professional. The staff was phenomenal.
Great atmosphere, service was fantastic and food was spectacular. I went with my wife and 6 month old for brunch. People there were so nice and we didn't have a reservation. The wait was about 30 minutes and we had a great table in the center next to the water fountain. Service was top notch and food was great!
reminds me of italy. I have been going to Five Points for years and have never been disappointed. The menu has something to please all tastes and moods. Their burger is one of the best in town. Their use of seasonal ingredients keeps the specials always interesting and the chef has that light, full flavored touch that I miss from my days in Italy. Keep up the good work guys!
Fire one, raise the rest!. I came to Five Points today anxious to indulge in the brunch which boasts to be the best. As many say, the food is probably the best brunch in NYC, in quality and selection. However, I'd like to warn all as I had an unfortunate experience at the front door before I was ever seated. Although we came with reservations, big appetites, and in good spirits, our plans were quickly trampled on by the abrupt, dismissive manner of the young, blond woman at the front stand (maitre d' or perhaps manager--too bad I was too offended to ask for her name). Our table wasn't ready as promptly as we were, which is fine, but to be told that so condescendingly and unprofessionally truly sets the mood for a foul meal from the get go. The only thing she knows how to communicate is a false smile and a white lie of a "short wait". Then, as we waited in the crowded bar area, I witnessed her talk down to all of the other customers who checked in after me, as well as an unnecessarily harsh and impatient tone with her colleages. We tried not to let this woman's bad day or lifetime of bad attitude ruin our meal, but it is hard to believe that both she and the server--who was young, adorable and beyong cheerful--actually work in the same establishment. That said, the food was impeccible (must have the churros!) and once seated and away from the miserable lady, the service was excellent. I can't wait to go again and recommend this place to friends--on the SOLE condition that I know for sure that that woman won't be there to yell at me upon my arrival. Note to management: Fire the blond maitre d' and give a raise to the rest of your staff! Thanks for the delicious meal.
A very enjoyable evening - a must!. I met some friends here for dinner on a Sat evening. I was a bit hesitant, knowing Saturday nights can be loud at New York eateries. My friends and I were hugely impressed with this place. It combines what's rare at many restaurants in NYC: great food, excellent service, stylish scene, comfortable noise level and charm! Yes, awesome wine list and specialty house cocktails. Great place to take your parents or a date to.
Great Thanksgiving Dinner!!!. Beautifully decorated for the Holiday and the price seemed quite reasonable for the dinner. I had the lobster salad and the turkey and the apple crisp. 2 of us spent about 180 bucks including tip for a really nice thanksgiving dinner. I would definitely go again for another meal. I've saved it to my list!
Delicious Dinner. I had dinner at five points last nite. i started with the delicious pizza . we then had the ravioli with butternut squash and goat cheese. Which was soo delicious. For my entree i had the tuna with roasted squash and arugula. Just perfect. The server was very knowlegable and friendly. I truely reccomment it.
Nasty Service at Brunch - Okay food. We were there for Brunch last sunday and I must say, that after whoever answered the phone hung up on me in a rude manner, we still walked over since we live in the area and had reservations. The girl at the door was incredibly unattentive and beyond rude. Her attitude was not at all friendly for a hospitality job. her name might have been Melissa(?). I understand brunch gets crazy with the kids and all, but the restaurant should staff accordingly to tackle those issues. We observed as other people were treated the same way. I coudn't undertstand whatever went wrong over the hostess. We were waiting at the bar and the bartenders were cool and well collected. We had awesome Bloody Marys while we waited. We were seated a little past our time at a nice table of 2, we had to ask for napkins. the server was aloof and sort of lost in his surroundings. The menu had a good selection and I've been there numerous times for dinner and brunch so I knew what to expect and pretty much knew what I was going to have. I was trying to impress my date and it didn't go so well. I had to ask for bread to one of the "deaf and blind" members of the staff that ignored me while i was trying to get their attention. Food that was supposed to go to another table came to mine. Our main courses took forever. Of course we skipped dessert and coffee, which is a shame, the server could've made some better tips. I'll give 'em one more shot since i love the food, but if i get this service again I'll make sure New York knows.
Great Brunch!.
My girlfriends and I had a great brunch here. The atmosphere was a little more upscale than we're used to (we're real LES chicks) but it was dim and peaceful--good if you're nursing a hangover!
My sister and I both had sandwiches. Mine was the Portabello Mushroom and was great. Hers was the BLT and was a little dry.
You get two mimosas with your brunch, which is awesome.
