The Olive Tree Cafe & Bar is located just upstairs from New York's famed Comedy Cellar. With a full dinner menu, great drink specials and amazing desserts, it's no wonder why people keep coming back for more.
While the menu at this New York cafe & bar is predominantly Middle Eastern, they also feature the best burgers in town, delicious hot Russian beef borscht (a house specialty), a myriad of coffees and more. Every item on the menu is prepared fresh daily, portions are generous, and they keep food and drink prices as low as possible.
The Olive Tree Cafe & Bar's atmosphere is truly unique. Spectacular stained glass lighting and Ava's original artwork set the mood. Patrons can draw on the slate tables or enjoy playing chess and backgammon while they listen to tunes from a jukebox. Free admission to the Comedy Cellar is sometimes offered to patrons of The Olive Tree.

In Short
With its stained-glass lamps, dark brick details and an antique-looking bar in the back, this Village staple is a fun spot for inexpensive (and late-night) American and Middle Eastern fare. The sprawling menu features everything from burgers to falafel to chocolate egg cream. Diners can rent chess and backgammon boards for a buck an hour, or take in a Charlie Chaplin silent flick on the small projection screen.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Best burger in the area, and one of the best in the city. The regular fries and the chicken sandwiches are also amazing.

I have been here only place, but the first impression was great! This place is very cute. While waiting for your food, you can doodle on the tables with chalk. I found that simply amazing! I ordered mocha with whip cream and was simply delicious. I definitely plan to revisit this cafe in the near future.

I went here on a whim with my friend while I was at a medical conference in the city. I have to say, that this place a loads of fun, even if we only stayed for 30 minutes. The cozy antique look of the place was what attracted us, and the menu got us to stay. The middle eastern theme was interesting and the prices were very good. I ordered a chocolate egg cream which was delicious. Also, they tables have chalkboard paint on them which makes eating a lot of fun.
