The Olive Tree Cafe & Bar is located just upstairs from New York's famed Comedy Cellar. With a full dinner menu, great drink specials and amazing desserts, it's no wonder why people keep coming back for more. While the menu at this New York cafe & bar is predominantly Middle Eastern, they also feature the best burgers in town, delicious hot Russian beef borscht (a house specialty), a myriad of coffees and more. In Short – With its stained-glass lamps, dark brick details and an antique-looking bar in the back, this Village staple is a fun spot for inexpensive (and late-night) American and Middle Eastern fare. The sprawling menu features everything from burgers to falafel to chocolate egg cream. Diners can rent chess and backgammon boards for a buck an hour, or take in a Charlie Chaplin silent flick on the small projection screen.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Best burger in the area, and one of the best in the city. The regular fries and the chicken sandwiches are also amazing.
Amazing WIngs and Atmosphere

I love this place! i went once with some friends on a whim and now whenever ive craving wings and im in the city thats where i go. I love love love wings and ive been many many places for them, but the great thing about the wings here is that they have a really unique taste. They are a bit spicy but so full or flavor, even their blue cheese dip is unique and the combination is like flavor heaven. Its cute and fun and all the tables are made of chalk board so you can draw on them or play tick tack toe lol. Its a great date place and the menu is very fairly priced and covers almost everything. I highly recommend it. I have yet to know someone that ive taken there or been there on their own that had anything bad to say about Olive Tree.
- Pros: The Wings and the atmosphere
- Cons: nothing i can think of...
Late Night Eats
by renee_james
This is an excellent place to eat after you've been out an about in the Village, be it 1am or 1pm. Love the Charlie Chaplin silent movies, can get kind of crowded though at night. Its cheap and you can draw on the table while you wait for your food. They've taken away the the Shwarma Guy though to make more room for tables, so its a little tight and busy (especially at night). Comedians run rampant through there (Due to the Comedy Place downstairs), so you can see anyone on any given night. But when your hungry at 1am and your looking for a place to eat, this might be a sight for sore eyes and empty stomachs or a quick laugh when you go to the bathroom. Cool.
- Pros: Its open late, decent Turkey Burger if your not into Meditteranean food or don't want Mc D's, B King's or Pizza.
- Cons: Your on top of each other, kind of tight

The Olive Tree Cafe & Bar's atmosphere is truly unique. Spectacular stained glass lighting and Ava's original artwork set the mood. Patrons can draw on the slate tables or enjoy playing chess and backgammon while they listen to tunes from a jukebox. Free admission to the Comedy Cellar is sometimes offered to patrons of The Olive Tree.
