new favorite bar. my friends and i were wandering around the village trying to find a place to have a few drinks. we were basically looking for ANY place better than the first nightmare of a bar we went to. this place was grrrrreeeat! drink specials were awesome. staff was pretty friendly. and the french fries were SO yummy. we had just come from dinner and we thought we werent hungry.... but we decided to order some fries to pick on while drinking a few beers. the basket of fries were done in 2 minutes, so we had to order more!! i loved this place. very laid-back, not too crowded. there was even a comedy show in the basement, which i probably would have sat through if i didnt go there wanting to sit and talk with my friends. i'll probably check it out next time i'm there!

Dont let Tracey serve your table.. Ive been to this place twice and the first time I sat at the bar and enjoyed myself the bartender is friendly and helpful. But the second time I went me and my group were seated at a table the waitress was ok but if you needed something it was hard to catch her attention becuase she was talking to everyone. I had to ask another waitress for a drink and then wait for my waitress to come to our table. But the worst part had to be when our check came we gave the waitress 18% tip and I don't think she deserved it. About two minutes later a friend of hers came to our table and asked was there anthing wrong with the service because that tip should have been 20% it should of have been more. When I spoke with the manager he basically brushed us off and offered a free round but with that kind of behavior permitted I juist wanted to get out of there. I will never go back to that place again.

awesome bar. ive been to my fair share of bars...but this one tops the charts. came with some friends last week and watched a sick comedy show, enjoyed the drink specials ($3 beers whaaaaaat) and had some laughs. also - as a side note - the spinach dip & burgers are probably some of the best in the city. i would HIGHLY recommend the lantern.

AMAZING QUALITY BAR FOOD. The place is pretty spacious. The waitress was very nice, tired but friendly, and gave good recommendations. Martinis are $7 each and there are 7 choices, each named after a deadly sin. The apple martini is good. The angel hair pasta took like half an hour to arrive, but it was worth the wait. Its the best pasta I've ever had, and it was a huge portion ($8)!!! They are renovating their menu so ask the waitress about that, they don't have a bunch of items featured on the menu but might if you go towards the summer. Came on a friday early, so can't rate the live music or comedy as there was none but I will def be going back there. The most unpretentious atmosphere in the west village. I deff recommend it. They also have a Sunday brunch special which is like $9 and that includes a meal (french toast or eggs, etc) and a free mimosa or bloody mary.

Great Comedians. I've been to a lot of comedy clubs in NYC but this one is the best as far as the comedians' talent. Not only are they funny but a few of the guys are pretty hot. But I would suggest eating before you go because the food is not so good. But they make up for it with their draft beer selection.

A Italian reprieve from the surrounding T-shirt shops and NY. This pleasant restaurant and lounge has an upscale environment complete with white tablecloths and a professional-looking clientele, as well as live music every night beginning at 10pm. From Sunday to Tuesday, there's a live jazz band. The rest of the week, a DJ sets up shop, tables and chairs disappear as the crowd files in and suddenly it's a rockin' bar.
