“Service was slow at the end.”
Love the Oysters. They are SO TASTY and so many varieties. Ask for a booth. They have excellent fish dishes too. The cod is great.
A DISASTER. Extremely dissatisfied by the menu...pricey, not worth it at all...in addition i left with a special treat FOOD POISONING!!!! I would rather eat from a food truck on the streets of NYC then to go back to Aqua Grill!
Good food, pricey, good location. My next table had Ed Koch eating what looked like macaroni and cheese....and raw onions. I did not know this was on the menu. I come for the fish. Ed did not mind when a couple tourists in the restaurant came over to him and asked him for a photo with them. My lunch was a fish sandwich. Fresh but I have had better because the sauce on it was not as good as the fish itself, if that makes any sense. The service is spotty depending on how busy they are and they are usually really crowded. It is a good restaurant nevertheless. Aquagrill is usually an enjoyable place to eat and there are lots of fresh fish selections. One of the pricier restaurants in Soho.
So delicious!. strongly recommend - wonderful atmosphere & food is so well done! Must go
they made me like seafood again. by pure accident we ended up having dinner at this restaurant and it was one of the best restarurant experiences i've ever had. Everything was perfect. Very sweet hostess, nice table with great view, attentive and professional service, promp manager and that FOOD. Food was unbelievable. i usually dont eat fish cuz I think it has tasteless and sticky meat howeverafter reading the menu I decided to give it a try.Alaskan salmon and snapper were work of art. worth every penny.
Best Seafood in the City.
I dined at Aquagrill recently and had an amazing experience. We came early for our reservation and were able to snag a seat at the bar and eat 24 perfect oysters. We had the bartender choose the oysters and let me tell you they were all so delicious, super fresh, and expertly shucked. At the table we ate
American cavier, spicy tuna tartar (wonderful), and crispy octopus (absolute perfection) to start. We split the special entree with the bay scallops, lobster and gnocci. The gnocci were light as air - and everything was expertly prepared. The food was incredible from the bread to the amuse to the panna cotta for dessert. The staff was so friendly and kind. The pace of the meal was also excellent - we weren't rushed, but were never waiting for something either. The staff really made us feel welcomed and we couldn't help but feel a little like we were guests in their homes. The only 'bad' part about our experience was the wait for the single stall bathrooms. Will be back often - fantastic experience.
Dirtiest Restaurant in the City. I was in last Sunday for brunch and not only did the Maitre D' lose my reservation but while I was eating I found a clump of dirt in my salad then I saw something run across the dining room. The bathroom was a diasator! Needless to say I will never eat there again. FISH is a better restaurant and it is in the area. YUCK!!!!
Coupla slips, overall dope..
The ambiance and decor inside is very appealing. Slightly congested dining area but comfy NY elbow dunting norm. Strong and tasty G and T opener followed by very delish Oysters (they have various types from all over, while they tasted rather similar, gooey seawater with nice little perky sauce, washed down with a cheeky sauvingnon blanc, everyone's happy).
Crab cake app was a bit of a fishy fried doughball, over cooked. The other chaps seemed happy with their apps. The three of us had the salmon, scallops and the halibut special, the two fish dishes were great but muggins here had the scallops, not the freshest and the sauce was really bad - not sure if the cook dropped the salt shaker or some of the capers fell in there but i was struggling to force it down - eventually sharing with my buddies that it was pretty damn poor. They had a bite and concurred.
When we mentioned it the lady was great, got rid, took it off the check and brought out another salmon - which was sublime. Brought two platters of shared deserts - little stuff but very kind.
My friend is a regular which would explain the great service and make up calls. Not complaining (sorta). I'll be back - HAVE THE SALMON - its crazy! Halibut Special my other pal order was also first class.
Overall, well done.
Great raw bar.
If you like oysters, this is the place. They carried something crazy like 30 varieties the night we went - some were local, some flown in from overseas. We tried 8 or 9 kinds. All were very fresh and tasty. Everything else we ordered was also expertly prepared (although less memorable than the oysters).
I really liked the unpretentious but professional atmosphere of the restaurant.
