Give French food a bad name.
I live in the neighborhood for 30 years, eaten at Le Jardin about 3 times. It was alright, never great.
ON THURSDAY IT WAS PRETTY LOUSY, APPETIZER SMALL AND MEDIOCRE drowned in balsamic, WINE TOO EXPENSIVE FOR POUR QUALITY. SUPERMARKET BREAD, VEGETABLE GENERIC AND THE SAME FOR ALL THE DISHES, I.E. STEAMED COLIFLOWER, BROCOLI, AND CARROTS. THE WORST OF ALL, MY DINNER PARTNER GOT SICK AND THREW UP ON THE WAY HOME AND HAD HEADACHES. HE HAD MENTIONED TO THE WAIT STAFF THA THE SALMON TASED OFF, TWO YEARS OLD.
I will never go back and never recomment the place
what a place for date nite!!. my wife and i stumbled on to this place on a random sat afternoon. we lucked out with the weather and were allowed to enjoy our meal outside. i would recommend this place to anyone!!
Good food, great atmosphere. "If the weather is good, make sure you sit in le jardin at Le Jardin. It's got a great open atmosphere, and somehow they prevent the birds from doing what they do... on you. Maybe it's only fake bird noises. The wine, according to someone with more refined taste-buds than I, is somewhat overpriced. Except for that, it's 5 stars. Two of us had the cassoulet, and it was just cool enough for it. Slightly salty, but otherwise, WOW! The mussels were excellent as was the steak. The staff was so kind and tolerant, it's worth visiting just for them. I'll be back. --This is an EAT CLUB review (but we're registered as DRINK CLUB)"
I would go back.
We had dinner there with friends and everything was delicious. We ordered about half the menu and everyone was happy with everything. The desserts were the only thing that were pretty average.
I the ambiance is nice for a group and you don't have to worry about being too loud.
memorable experience. I've been here twice, and twice have I had a great memorable experience. This place lives up to every hype you have read and can think of about it. The ambiance is excellent, the service is excellent, the food is excellent, what more is there to say about this place? If I HAD to complain and nit-pick about something, we had to wait 5 minutes for our table to be ready. There, something negative about Le Jardin Bistro.
Good Food at this French Bistro. Something abot the word French Bistro that sort of turned me off to this joint at first. Note, I said at first. By the time I sat and tried some of the amazing dishes I couldn't stop telling people about it. The food is great and the atmosphere is sleek and heck even the service was spot on. I had some odd chicken dish that had me coming back for seconds (we have now been back on occasion). Try it, you know, you'll be sooooooooo happy!
Fantastic as usual. This was my fifth visit to Le Jardin Bistro and i have to say that i love it. I have always found the service to be spot on and the food to be terrific. I have yet to come in the summer as i am never around, but this cozy little restaurant is a great go to place for the winter months where you can eat, relax, and be comfy cozy over a terrific bottle of wine.
Terribly disappointing. Not what I expected. For years I have dined at Le Jardin, sometimes a few times a year, sometimes just once a year. But I always enjoyed the experience. It had always been fun and romantic. Not last night. We were seated outside under the grapevines. It was a little too warm, we were a little too close to the other tables. On my left the young couple began to quietly and intensely argue throughout the meal, when the young man was not on the cell phone shouting to his friends. The older man to my right decided that he too needed to get on his cell phone, insisting that his dining partner reluctantly talk into the phone. Not exactly romantic. The bread was not fresh enough. The butter was frozen. The table was too small and the servers made no attempt to help us organize the plates or take anything away so everything could fit. The food was decent, cooked nicely, the hangar steak and the salmon, but the portions were a little too small. When we were through eating, getting the attention of our waiter was nearly impossible. Needless to say, we did not want to stay for dessert and coffee. We finally got the waiter's attention by getting up and walking out of the garden into the restaurant, passing him by. Dining at Le Jardin was more like work than pleasure this time.
