FUN PLACE, NOSTALGIC, QUITE GOOD BUT NOT AMAZING. This is a great break in the monotony, decently priced, nice atmosphere and a fun place to relive your childhood. The food is good and they have smartly created and wide varieties of combos and a few good other food options to eat. I enjoyed it and it's all quite great EXCEPT:

1) Surprisingly, the peanut butter flavors were all runny! We got the sampler platter and each one was literally dripping off the bread, apples, carrots. It was disappointing that it was slightly thicker than honey and it was not heated up. For me, I disliked the consistency (and the red hot flavor - great flavors were: Chunky, raisin/cinnamon and white chocolate). I like peanut butter to be thicker, personally.

2) They were out of a lot of items like one type of bread, celery, seltzer (which ruined most of their fountain/egg cream drinks) and some desserts.

3) The staff was nice enough but only about 75% into doing a great job. Service was slow...it's like a bunch of teenagers were running the joint.

4) The tea selections were gross (I know this is not a big deal for this kind of venue but FYI).

All in all, it's more good than bad and I'd try it at least once - but I probably won't go again for another year due to the runny consistency of their peanut butters.

A casual cafe devoted to a favorite childhood treat.. The Scene
If the whiff of homemade peanut butter doesn't grip you, then butter-yellow walls lined with vintage tins and classic ads for Sunbeam bread and Welch's jam are bound to make you feel good. Aside from a milk selection that includes soy, rice and Lactaid, the novelty rings true. Kids, parents and everyone in between appreciate the old-fashioned sandwiches served with a pile of chips and carrot sticks.

The Food
Though the "Elvis"--grilled peanut butter, honey, bananas and bacon--reigns king, many of the sandwiches on the menu are sweeter compositions. Oddly enough, the kitchen turns out a heck of a tuna melt and a particularly tasty grilled cheese. Feel free to save your peanut butter for dessert: Milk shakes, cookies and sundaes (one with peanut butter Cap'n Crunch) are worth the trip alone. The Bananarama Split with peanut butter, graham crackers, whipped cream and chocolate sauce has a cult-like following.

sort of like when you were a kid. i took my little sister here on saturday before seeing the circus and it was fun! sure, its $6 for a peanut butter sandwich, but this is ny & where else are you going to get interesting flavours like spicy peanut? i had their daily special sandwich, which happened to be chocolate peanut butter mint. delicious dark chocolate peanut butter with mint jelly. my little sis tried the cookie dough surprise cream cheese, chocolate chips, and peanut butter (smooth or crunchy). it didnt taste like its namesake, but it was interesting. sandwiches come with complimentary sides of chips and carrot sticks. staff are heavy-handed with the spreads. wash down your sandwich with a variety of milks/drinks. the store also sells a bunch of peanut related foods, so grab a jar of their gourmet peanut butters or a can of roasted peanuts ($5/can try the barbeque flavour).

User review by littlebella25. my friend and i decided that the guy who took our orders was yummy--probably yummier than the sandwich. the crust was a bit stale, the peanutbutter was a bit runny, and the potato chips had a funny (stale?) after taste. it was OKAY. they were out of bagles, the building is a bit cramped and over $9.oo for a sandwich and drink is a little much.

however i was full when i left.

also, when i asked for one sandwich, they were out of one of the ingredients so i ahd to get another (they couldn't run to a grceory store and pick it up when they ran out?! gosh....)

Alot of diverse reviews, hope this clears it up!. I have been to pb & co many times. Service is the worst part about this place due to alot of young teenagers running the show, what would you expect? The best part is their desserts, I love them and so does anyone else i have ever brought there. I would go there for dessert and the peanut butter sampler so you can pick what you would like to buy. I have also seen a plate with fire in the middle that is a smore maker, looks good. Skip the sandwiches and make them at home. They do sell a cookbook that includes all recipies, if you want just a sandwich I would spend the $16.00 on the book as this just about equals the cost of 2 sandwiches. Best peanut butter pie in the city and this is not easily said by me who is very picky.

i heart peanut butter. This is a great little stop in the village. If you're looking to try something new or just grab a snack, go here. The prices are really great too. There's not a lot of seating so be prepared to eat and run.

All about Peanut Butter. I love this restaurant because it's relaxing, has good food, and the price is good too. It's a small place and not too crowded though. The walls have lots of fun decorations to look at. The peanut butter sandwiches are all very creatively made. I like the flutter nutter and this other one with bananas in it too. And each sandwich comes with carrots and chips. With a cup of milk, this is a perfect meal for lunch.

if you love peanut butter. if you love peanut butter you'll love your sandwich, but you can also buy the peanut butter in the store and make your own at home. the deserts are out of this world, my favorite it death by peanut butter

A disappointment. We've tried PB & Co's peanut butter before, and were looking forward to the Elvis. It was a letdown - the sandwich is simply average. You can make it just as easily at home, and for quite a bit less $$. Part of the problem is that their regual pb is average - if you go, order something with one of the unsual flavors- the cinnamon raisin and dark chocolate are very tasty. Overall, though, I'd skip the restuarant and buy the pb in a store (oddly, it's more expensive if you buy it at PB & Co.) and make your sandwich at home.

Regress to your childhood. This small restaurant focuses on a common ingredient...peanut butter. They have a few varieties including smooth, chunky, spicy, and cinnamon raisin. You can get sandwiches with toppings like the very good marshmallow fluff and nutella. But face it, your not a kid anymore, so go for the Elvis, a grilled peanut butter sandwich drizzled with honey and banana slices served with optional bacon slices. As weird as it sounds it tastes great, and was the best sandwich we tried. They also have decent shakes and peanut butter cookies that were not so hot. The place is small with only eight or so tables, and you place your order at the counter. If you come on a Saturday, plan on getting there early because the place fills up fast. You can also take home jars of the peanut butter and small vats of the fluff from the shelves in back.
