Tips for Suzie's Restaurant

August 10, 2012

I've been ordering take out here for a while, the food is decent and the price: inexpensive, there were some talk that they were closing down a while back, I felt bad. But after snooping around the with the staff not long ago, word on the street is that they got acquired by a Hong Kong based restaurant group?!?! To be honest, I'm kinda looking forward to see what changes will be made. This place deserves new life, it's an institution in the Village. I'll always be back here and I can't wait for Suzie's 2.0

Lunch special disasters!. I have been to Suzies many times as it is cheap and you get a lot of food at lunch time. The curry chicken is decent and the hot and sour soup is also decent.

I lucked out the first time I went there and ordered this because the next times I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan and it was HORRIBLE! A can of sliced mushrooms with water from can and some chicken and a couple peas.

Szechwan beef, MEH

Wonton soup Meh

Egg rolls meh

They all left something to be desired. Sorry Suzies, I tried to give you many chances but you only were a hit once.

User review by pandacub143. I love Suzie's for the comfortable atmosphere and the decent prices. However, the food is heavily Americanized so don't expect authenticity. (The food isn't bad, just not Chinese.) The service is alright. I like their takeout- they're very thoughtful and the food is still hot when it gets to you.

Best chinese in Central Village. The food is pretty good, the lunch specials are fantastic, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and pleasant, and the delivery in unbelievably fast. Overall, it's by far the best chinese restaurant around.

HORRIBLE delivery service. I liked this restaurant's food and service within the restaurant. BUT the delivery men are RUDE!! If you like the delivery man breathing over your shoulder to monitor the tip you're giving and telling you what you're giving isn't enough, or having money SNATCHED out of your hand without a word, this is the restaurant for you. I was a customer for 3 years, but these incidents have happened 3 times in the past 2 months, and I'm tired of being disrespected. I'll never give my money to Suzie's or their mean delivery guys again. Believe me, there are other good Chinese restaurants in the area!

Never a Bad Meal. I've eaten here, and I have had food delivered from here many times, and I have never been dissapointed. The food has always been good, and the people there are very helpful. The prices are very reasonable and competitive with prices from most other similar restaurants. There are places where you can get a meal for less, but you pay for it in terms of the quality of the food. If you want good Chinese food for a reasonable price, then come to Suzie's and give it a try.

I Love Suzies!!!. I have to say, I have gone to quite a few chinese restaurants, and this one blows all the others out of the water. EVERYTHING that I or my friends and family have ever ordered here is delicious. The service in the restaurant is quick and friendly, and when it comes to take-out, their delivery time is incredible. I almost think that the delivery man cooks the food on his bike, it is so fast. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu, and they are very accommodating when it comes to substitutions.

great lunch specials. Never been there, probably never will. But damn it if I don't order from them two or three or four times a week.

Great soups. Great lunch specials.
