A friend told me I needed to come here as they had a nice buffet. It was definitely a good buffet, maybe not great! I did get my fill and left happy and full!

i come here every year for my birthday and my favorite is the lamb vindaloo. i cant get enough. i love the ambiance of this place, they even sang happy birthday to me with cake and all. this year i tried this drink called .five spice" absolutely delicious. my boyfriend and I always feels welcome here and they give you plenty to eat, I dont get to eat indian food often, so this is my treat I look forward to every year, its my tradition and I"ll keep going back. i think its great they have take out, if i lived in manhattan, I would probably order it everydau. hahahaha.

Buffet is a dream come true! I love coming here after a long run to fill up on carbs and protein. It's so rewarding. May not be the healthiest choice, but to spoil myself I treat myself for some indian food. I know anyone who tried it and like indian food, you DO get cravings. Fulfill them!

Food is ultra-cream laden, also bland

I grew up eating Indian food. The dishes offered at the Indian Taj's lunch buffet are very heavy on the cream, and the vegetarian offerings are extremely bland. The food here makes me feel ill and bloated. I can't speak for dinner, but the lunch buffet is not good. Really, for anyone to rate this restaurant as "great" is flat out ridiculous. The chana masala is okay, nothing more (again, rather bland). I get the feeling they are trying to make the food more palatable to Americans, but people don't want watered down Indian, they want Indian.

My friend recommended this restaurant after I had arrived in the city for the summer. I was craving aloo gobi and roti, but found another dish that tickled my fancy; chicken vindaloo. To warn anyone out there that has not had this dish, its hot, very hot. However, it is hot in manner that is not pure pepper or temperature. The spices which season this dish are subtle but combine to make a powerful statement. The chili and pepper did not overwhelm the cinnamon and cumin. It was wonderful. I cooled my palate down with a nice mango lassi. I have been back twice and have found the food to be always consistent.

Pros: Food is worth the money, won't leave feeling empty
