Good NYC pizza. I am not from NYC, I'm from California. So in the eyes of most New Yorkers my view on pizza does not count. In my eyes that is not true. I am a true Pizza fan. I do not like the Chicago style pizza. I have a few good ones, but for the most part, not my thing. Ray's pizza is good. I had a plain slice and it was fresh, crisp, and good. Some spots in NYC don't have good NYC pizza, don't know what they are doing, but this is good. I will try Lombardi's and judge the two of them against each other. I am told one is better than the other, but I don't know how that can be. My favorite pizza of all time is Mellow Mushroom, but they don't have one in NYC.

Extremely disappointed, go to Lombardi's!. The girl behind the counter (let's call her Pizza Monster) had a b**chy attitude (brown hair, 5'4", wears glasses, believe she is related to the old guy). My gosh, I have never dealt with such a rude person who I have to pay! What a monster she is. The food was cold and I asked if I could sit inside the restaurant to order a pizza. Stay away from this place until they get rid of this B**ch. Wasted $15 bucks on 3 slices of Pesto Pizza.

Go to Lombardi's down the street, although busy the staff is more pleasant to deal with. She yelled at me and I will have to let Food Network and others know that they should not be considered to be on any list besides "Rude and Crappy Food 2008".

Just a simple neighborhood pizza joint.. I live a couple blocks away and stop here for a quick slice or two every once in a while. Chicken parm hero's a good sub. The review by "sharona714" is ridiculous. Obviously this moron knows nothing about how to conduct research on a travel destination. Google "nyc best pizza" and the first list that comes up will give you Lombardi's, Grimaldi's, Patsy's, John's.. which are the best, and very uniquely NYC, so they're great for tourists but they're also brick/coal oven style. This Ray's (and most Ray's pizza joints) are standard thin- and quick- slice spots. If you want the standard pizza that NYers enjoy regularly for a quick bite, this is a fine choice. Cheap, basic... going to pick up my chicken parm hero now. Yummmmm.

Best pizza I've ever had!. We were running late before the theater so we ordered delivery to the hotel. It took about an hour but was well worth it. The medium pizza cheese was HUGE, much bigger than what a normal large is at other places. Words cannot describe how good it was, you just have to try it.

best plain slice in new york. i hardly ever get toppings on my pizza when i go to ray's-- why mess with perfection? the thin, crisp (not burnt!) crust, pleasantly sweet sauce, and always gooey cheese combine to make the best slice (or two, or three) of pizza you'll ever taste.

The Real Ray's. Best pizza in New York City! The restaurant also has the greatest food. The Chicken Marsala is the best I've ever had. FYI - This is the true original Ray's that others have tried to copy. It's been documented.
