The Scene – Nestled in an easy-to-miss nook on Houston Street, Zinc Bar ushers guests through plush red velvet curtains to a cramped yet cozy front room that throbs with the band's every beat. Should it be romance you're looking for, the back room is an airy oasis where the music is muted and speaking above a whisper is akin to blasphemy. – – The Draw – Patrons span a range of ages--and many of them are regulars, drawn to the rhythms of an eclectic assortment of standard jazz (Mondays, featuring the Zinc House Jazz Band) and Latin and Brazilian jazz (Samba Sundays).…

Love the new space, even though I miss the intimacy from the old one -it's great to see bands now with 6-12 pieces, which they never could have fit in the old space. Been there a few nights now and have been amazed at the quality of music each and every time. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the vibe is fun. Definitely recommend a visit. On west 3rd street now.
- Pros: Great music friendly staff
- Cons: Difficult to find

When I heard that the Zinc Bar had moved, I was concerned that the change in locale might spoil it's great vibe. Unfortunately it was far worse than I could have imagined. Although the space is much larger (including better bathroom facilities which were much needed), it now longer has the same cool atmosphere. Admittedly, I was there on a Monday, a slower night, but it had the air of the sort of jazz club that the tourist bus might pull up too. Most of the clientele were elderly and the two acts were just plain bad.....a first in my years as a patron. How sad. It might still be worth it for a notable act, but not for hanging out.
- Pros: better bathrooms, very good waitress
- Cons: cheezy vibe
