The Scene
What happens when two creative women befriend each other while waitressing at Indochine? In the case of Robin Renzi and Michelle Quan, they end up at the helm of a Nolita fashion favorite. Walk into Me & Ro and immediately feel the peaceful calm of the Asian and spiritual elements that inspire the jewelry.
The Goods
There's a raw, sensual appeal to the Sanskrit, Tibetan and Chinese scripts that Me & Ro inscribes on a good number of its pieces. Sweet little earrings with a pair of pearls and faceted garnet feature a little leaf of silver that says "devotion" in Sanskrit. Simple circular pendants strung on rough leather string read "As here, so elsewhere." The vibe is distinctly positive, and almost tangibly loving and romantic. But that's not to say that Me & Ro ladies must be chaste--some of the clustered earrings and bangles definitely bring to mind belly dancing fun.

I'm not sure about the other reviewers here but my experience at Me&Ro has always been great. I've been to both the New York City and Miami Beach stores, and the staff was helpful and friendly at both. Yes, I agree that the jewelry is expensive, but it is really well made, and I love the fact that it is made right in New York City. If you want lower priced (and I mean lower quality) jewelry that is made in China, Mexico, India, etc. then Me & Ro is not the place for you. Their designs are fresh, unique, and totally wearable - the pieces look great if you're wearing jeans or if you're strolling down the Red Carpet!!
Pros: I love their jewelry!!
Cons: But it's pricey!

Me & Ro has beautiful jewelry but terrible store policies. BEWARE that they do not accept returns aside from store credit. Their jewelry is very expensive and their store policy is not clearly explained until you find the need to return it and then are stuck with something that you don't like. I'm sure the innovative designer's behind the company would not be pleased to learn that stonewalling a customer when trying to speak with the store manager is not good business. Rule #1 in business is simple: The customer is always right. It is not my habit to leave negative feedback on websites (this is actually my first time) but unfortunately I have no other outlet since once they get your money, they don't really seem to care about keeping the customer happy!
