This place serves kangaroo meat. Cooked medium, it's a little gamey but quite delicious. Served with bok choy and a shiitake mushroom sauce.

Awesome aussie bar!. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and service at Eight Mile Creek. From the moment I walked in, I was kindly greeted, given food suggestions and astonished at how great the food actually was. While living in the LES for the past 2 years, I've had my fair share of great food, but the Meat Pie and mashers with gravy were some of the best items I've had in a while!

My friends had decided to throw me a surprise party a few weeks ago as a final farewell (as I am leaving for Australia in a week). The staff was amazingly helpful while they were while working with my friends. Accommodating, responsive and helpful - the management made that evening one of the best nights I've had in the city.

Thank you Eight Mile Creek!

Bi-level bar-restaurant, Aussie themed. This is an Aussie-themed bar on two levels. The top level (from which I was quickly removed), is for serious restauraters. It has a full menu, and (I guess) expensive food and wine. The lower level is a basement bar with live music (a keyboard and guitar

duo), an okay beer selection, a friendly if harried bartender, and a barfood menu.

Though there are a lot of tables down there,

most folks preferred standing at the bar. That made it hard to get to the bartender, which was the only way you could order food or drink. No servers here.

The food must be prepared upstairs, because it takes awhile after ordering (and paying) for it to make its way to the lower level.

I had the Curry Chicken Pie, which was not very curry-ish. We also shared the Wallaby Wings, hot style, which were terrific. New Yorkers are such food wimps, it's hard to get anything with a decent kick in it. These were a delicious exception. Certainly the best wings I've had this year.

At first the crowd seemed cold and cliquish, but if you talk to someone, you'll soon find they'll be your new friends. It's a pleasant place, slightly pricey, but, oh those wings!

Great bartender - horrible manager. Very pleased with the atmosphere and decorum - only problem was the pre-menopausal manager who yelled at my friend and me during a debate with another patron over college basketball...a common occurence before March madness. When trying to speak to her rationally about it - we were asked to leave. Clearly, she should be concentrating on her management skills (as well as the treadmill) she was incorrageable and rude - will never go back as a result.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Authentic Aussie character defines this Nolita restaurant and bar. Upstairs, pre-war wall moldings painted burnt orange make the narrow space feel cozy. Locals go for Coopers Ale and Australian comfort food classics like meat pies. But the cuisine isn't all traditional; dishes like emu Carpaccio (with black truffle oil vinaigrette and edamame) are more inventive. Downstairs at the Creek Bar, guests party to pop music and songs by Down Under artists they’ve probably never heard of. Though a shortened menu is available at the subterranean lounge, there's a better chance of enjoying dinner conversation in the quiet of the actual restaurant.

Best Burger, Great wine, Good Looking Staff, Great Garden. Was shopping in the area and stumbled across this little aussie place.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by their handsome bartender and a big smile! Who would have thought.... A smile on a bartender! And in NYC!

Sat down at their bar and ordered a glass of Grenache/Shiraz? It was delicious. Really fruit forward and not as spicy as some of the other Shiraz's I have tried.

Chatted with the bartender and looked over their dinner and bar menus. I loved the thought of having the lamb but the aussie burger caught my eye...

Beet and fried egg on a burger! And pineapple..... ok. I had to try it.

It was UNREAL!!! I will tell everyone I meet about this Aussie burger with the lot!

The beef itself was good quality and it was cooked perfectly to my med-rare request. The sweet potato fries I got on the side were fantastic also.

Can't recommend this place more. I will be back!

Thanks to the bartender for being friendly and full of suggestions.

Always a good experience.. From the delicious food to the relaxed but efficient service, this is a great Aussie transplant into the city. Great selection of aussie beers and wines in the cosy bar up front, and then great food out the back. Happy to go back there again and again.
