Nice Australian comfort food - Recommend. Just a nice spot to get good food. Very nice and courteous staff, great Australian brews and food, and the prices are just right.

Fun, low-key Aussie bar. This place is wonderful. The bartenders are friendly and fun, the wine is great, and I always have a great time. I still don't understand cricket, but you can't win them all.

Hoppity Hop. I went here back in March (gawd, it was that long ago already) and had an awesome time. I'd stay away from the emu carpaccio (whoever thought that raw bitter bird was a good idea had it all wrong), but the kanga skewers were good (a bit bland for me, though), and the mashed potatoes were deelishus. And the lamb? Heavenly. It didn't to sit at the bar and have the bartender's attention, either. Good times.

Best seafood, Best dessert, Best wine. I ate here with my boyfriend last weekend, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing. I had barramundi which was fresh and tasted superb, and my boyfriend had seafood pasta, which he said was amazing. We also enjoyed a great bottle of wine, and the dessert was the best I've had in a long while, freshly cooked chocolate souffle - delicious! The atmosphere was romantic and cosy yet casual, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place!

No dingoes.. Went there on a Sat night and the place was mostly filled with groups of expats watching cricket. Appetizers (mussles, crayfish cake) were excellent, Aussie lager (Blue Tongue) was great, and kangaroo steak served with my favorite mushrooms was tasty and chewy (I requested medium instead of rare), though I wasn't impressed. I mean, it tasted much like beef and not like something exotic, however, perhaps it's a good thing. The menu is short, therefore making it easy to make your choice. Dessert (chocolate souffle in a big cup) topped the evening nicely.

Caveat emptor: better make reservations.

fun place for something different. We went for dinner but they had a big happy hour crowd going on. Place is small and narrow but during the week ther were only 3 tables dining. We got the kangeroo skewers to try some roo... not bad, a little too chewy for my taste. Everyone got something different and each dish was delicious! Especially the mash potatoes, we ordered a second helping after we finished out main courses. Waiter was very nice and friendly and cute. The bottle of wine we got was excellent (cabernet/shiraz) It was quite since we went on a tuesday but we all had a great time. Food was excellent with a casual atmoshere.

Bad experience. I've visited this restaurant once. I was there at 5 pm when it should have been opened. It wasn't ready yet, however, and I was told that it would in half an hour so I left. My advice is to stay away of this restaurant.If this is the way they run their business then count me out. There are plenty of restaurants in NY(and maybe some Australian ones too) that one doesn't have to wait half an hour in, aren't they?

So goodbye Eight Mile Creek and all the worst.

Kangeroo on mashed yam. And no I am not kidding!. I was looking for something in NOLITA, couldn't really decide on a cuisine and walked into 8 Mile Creek having only been there for beer. Instead we sat and ordered food. I had the most delicate fillet of Kangeroo cooked to perfection on a bed of mashed yams followed by arguably the best chocolate fondue I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this one, but stay upstairs, downstairs is for the rowdy dancing crowd.

Hot Aussie bartenders!!!. As a gay man, Nolita is one of the areas in NY that I feel truly comfortable in. On Friday night, I stepped into the subterranean bar to have a glass of Shiraz and take in some Aussie culture. I was greeted by a ruggedly handsome bald bartender who shot me a warm and welcoming smile. The bar was crowded but Steve made me feel like I was the only guy in the room. He really knows how to look after his customers! ;) Try his patented and fatal Steve Slammer! Highly recommended.
