Tips for Bowery's Whitehouse Hotel

Bowery's OK for me. The lodgings are quite acceptable. It beats sleeping in the cold NYC street. I happen to be a person who has very little funds owing to persons being unscrupulous and deviant. I treated myself to a vacation on a TIGHT budget, the hotel was in my range and I will always be grateful for them to have me as a guest. Thank You Bowery staff and management. I hope to return, again.

Bare Bones. Yes your "room" is basically a closet with a bed thrown inside. There really is no privacy per se, just the semblance of it, as you can hear every crack & creak around you. So invest in some earplugs if you want a good night's rest. Other than that, there isn't much to complain about, given the price. The staff is incredibly friendly & helpful, everything is neat & tidy, the beds comfy, and the location fantastic.

If you are squeamish about communal living then the Bowery isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a cheap, clean place to lay your head when you're in the city then this is the spot for you.

Don't stay here!. I didn't like this place at all. You're room is a cubicle, people! And I'm not just complaining about how tiny it is; the walls don't reach the ceiling. You're literally in a cubicle. This place also lacked the friendly backpacker vibe that I noticed in other hostels. You'd be much better off at the Chelsea International Hostel, which isn't a palace or anything, but you will have a much more enjoyable stay there, and it's significantly cheaper!
