great place. I am almost 30 years old and yes.. I have never had a brazilian wax before. I've always heard these horror stories that I never felt the need to put myself through it. I get my legs and eyebrows waxed once in a while and one day just decided to finally give it a try. Since I work around the area, I wanted to go somewhere nearby after work. I took a deep breath and walked in, more like hiked up. The lady I had was about my mother's age. I felt a bit awkward at first, but she was so sweet! (I'll save you the details on the whole process of awkward positions) It did hurt a bit, but was not as bad as I thought it would be. My lady's name was June and I'm going to get my other waxing services here as well.
They Saved Me!. I am not familiar with the neighborhood. I live in Brooklyn. But I was in Greenwich Village for a date and I broke my nail and was frantic. Soho Nails came up on my phone and ran to it. The place was packed. But I begged the woman to help me and fit me in. God I wish I remember all their names. The girl behind the counter got behind a station and replaced my nail. I never write these reviews but I am so appreciative. Thank you so much!
great salon. I had my first ever bikini wax here, i will never go anywhere else. my lady remembers me every time, so friendly. All of my friends now go hereits just that good.
Have Proof you Made an Appointment.
The pro's of soho nail are obvious. They are the cheapest mani / pedi / wax in NYC. A Brazillian bikini wax is $20!!! Although, I called on the day I needed an appointment and when I showed up the girl couldn't find me in her book. She asked what time that day I called and she informed me they had stopped taking appointments for that evening by the time I said I called and 10 people were waiting already for services. I was totally frustrated by this. She made it seem like I was making it up I had an appointment!
So my only advice would be to get the name of who you are speaking with when you make an appointment because they aren't very organized.
best mani and pedi. I went in for the manii and pedi. It was the best i ever gotten. The whole package was $24 which was pretty cheap compared to the other nail salons. I would go there again! The staff was super friendly too!
Whenever you need a quick mani/pedi.
I really like going here when I need a last minute mani/pedi. The place is always busy but somehow I always manage to get my nails done without an appointment. I actually discovered this place when I visited here 3 years ago walking through Soho and can't believe the quality of service and LOW LOW prices (especially for Manhattan) at this locale.
Recommended also for waxes, although I am a bit suspicious of the sanitary conditions. Don't go here if you want you nails done for your wedding day.... Better for casual purposes.
Longtime clients of this bare-bones nail salon know that technical expertise is more important than the scent of eucalyptus or flat-screen TVs..
At first glance, there's nothing special about this one-room Soho nail salon and its white walls, simple wood manicure stations, black chairs and music-less air. But the constant stream of loyal neighborhood denizens, the supremely affordable menu of services ($7 for a manicure, $16 for a pedicure) and attention to client happiness explains how even without a sign outside or a website, this shop is packed on Saturday afternoons.
