AWFUL SERVICE. I was kept waiting for 45 minutes then the stylist pitched up - no apology. When I asked politely if more than one person could cry my hair (something they do as a mater of course in many salons when they are runing behind) they berated me for 'hurting his feelings' No thought whatsoever for my schedule!!!

When I called later to speak to the manager I was told noone would speak to me and that they would be happy never to see me again. I have been a customer there for 4 years!!

STILL IN SHOCK.

Talk about an attitude. It seems they would rather protect their staff from 'doing no wrong' than admit their mistakes.

Great experience....go to NELLA!!!. • I have been going to the John Dellaria Salon for about 5 years now and have never once been disappointed!! I always see Nella. She is by far the best hair stylist I ever been to. I walked into the salon on a whim needing a haircut badly only to become a regular (very satisfied) client! I WILL NOT go anywhere else... I also my hair colored and highlighted every 4 months or so. Again, the best....I get complimented for weeks after. I tried the Brazilian Keratin hair treatment last summer. Yes, it can be a bit pricey but certainly no pricier than any other salon in Manhattan. It was well worth every penny. Nella knows exactly what she is doing and I have 100% confidence in her. Finally, I found a salon that I know I will walk out of feeling like a new person!

Stephen ROCKS!. Stephen, at John Dellaria is the BEST. I have been a client of his for almost 20 years, and I can say, without a doubt, that he has changed my life.

I have "difficult" hair! Stephen is the first (and the last, as far as I am concerned) stylist who has taken the time to learn how to cut my hair. Before going to Stephen, I used to just accept my hair for what it was. But now I love my hair again!

There are many things to love about Stephen. First and foremost, he treats every one of his clients the same - from first time customers to long time customers. And to him, they aren't JUST customers - they are clients, and he spends time getting to know you, getting to know your hair and what works best for you. He looks at my hair, looking to see how it grew in from the last cut, so that he can see what's working, and what might not be working. That attention to detail, that care that he puts into every visit, is what has been keeping me coming back, time after time, year after year.

To me, you will not find a better stylist in the city. And to top it off, he is genuinely one of the nicest people on the planet. I look forward to my haircuts! I look forward to our conversations, which range from politics, movies, sports and Rock and Roll.

Go see Stephen. You will NOT be disappointed. I promise!

Zsolt Fun !!!. My hair was cut by Zsolt, and he's just too cute. I told him to do whatever he felt would look best on me and he said he wanted to cut my hair short. I already had a bob, so I was a little nervous since I have chubby cheeks. But Zsolt was able to make me feel very comfortable and explained everything he did, and how I could maintain it on my own. (which I needed since my hair is naturally curly)

For the past week and a half, I have been getting complimented everywhere I go. Everyone says the cut fits my face perfectly and I am truely in love with the whole look. It's Stylish and Sheek. Thank you Soo much Zsolt !!!

Amazing hair cut without the pretention LOVE LOVE LOVE !. I absolutely love this Salon. I have been going for years. I used to go to one guy who is no longer there, then I switched over to David and I love him !! My hair always looks like it belongs in a magazine after going to him. Even when it is growing out it looks perfect ! When I look back at pictures I can tell when I was going to John Dellaria and when I (gasp !!) went to a different salon. It always looks amazing in the Dellaria stages :)

David talks to you about your hair and really knows what will look best with your face.

You will feel perfectly comfortable here. Even though it is on a trendy block in Soho, you could walk in there with sweat pants and slippers and not feel judged. It's really a great atmosphere focused on YOUR hair and not on uber trendy fads.

I referred 2 friends and both are repeat customers. My friend goes to Kyoko and loves her !! I have heard from friends that Stephen, Anna, Tommy, Danny, Nella and David from my own experience are all wonderful ! I want to try all of them and then pick a favorite. It's a salon where I would feel safe going to any of the sylists.

Anna Ancin- THE BEST HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. I've been going to Anna for years on the recommendation of a friend and she's never failed to deliver perfection. My hair is limp and straight and she makes it look like something wonderful. An added bonus is that even all thumbs me can maintain that wonderful look with minimal effort.

It grows out beautifully if I'm too buys to get back when I should - and she's always glad to see me (and remembers the cut) no matter how long it is between appts.

If you're looking for a GREAT haircut and a really nice person to give it to you - make an appt with Anna. You won't regret it.

Stephen O'Roark rocks. Several years ago I showed up at John Dellaria with hideously damaged hair, caused by years of trying to make it something it's not. Stephen worked patiently to get my hair back to health, and gave me the best haircut of my life. It's the perfect cut both for the texture and weight of my hair, and for my personality. I wish I'd met him a long time earlier! Every time I go in he gives it fresh consideration, and we discuss possible variations; he has never just given me the same old thing out of habit. Over the years I've recommended him to several friends, and they have all kept going to him.

On top of that he's a great guy: a guitarist with a fascinating music career and a real New Yorker, kind, sane, smart. The chair-chat is simply having a fabulous wide-ranging conversation with an interesting friend. I always have a great time.

The staff in general are always friendly and efficient when I've been there, and helpful in making appointments.

Anna Ancin-Simmons is an artist for my hair. Let me begin by saying that eight years ago, when my mom came to visit, I made her an appointment with Anna Ancin-Simmons at John Dellaria. My mom has short, spiky, coarse, Chinese hair and Anna cut it SO expertly that my mom (who lives in California) refused to get her hair cut by anyone else! (This went on for 3 years...too bad mom didn't fly out frequently enough to maintain her vow of loyalty, or the cute spike-y cut with which she walked out the salon!)

Since then, Anna has been cutting my hair (long, layered, and not the same texture of hair as my mother). I trust her implicitly. Rather than be swept up by trend (razoring, over-texturizing, etc), Anna cuts hair for the individual in her seat, his/her texture of hair, his/her shape of head/face, and the season (she knows when my hair will be getting thinner with the winter, frizzy with the humidity, when I'll need to have an extra conditioning, etc. and adjusts accordingly).

My hair ALWAYS turns out beautifully! In 8 years, there has never been a misstep. And, as my budgetary limitations fluctuate (and therefore the frequency of my haircuts), I can confidently count on Anna's cuts to grow out well and maintain a gorgeous shape.

I have dragged a (now ex) boyfriend to see her and she did an AMAZING job with his hair.

Anna is an artist, well-skilled in her craft, and worthy of being trusted with your locks!

Amazing cut and Amazing service!!. This place is wonderful. This was my second time seeing Nella and the second cut was equally as great as the first!! She made me feel really comfortable. The staff is really welcoming. All and all a great experience!! I highly recommend her and this salon!!

Really bad service. Only my third time and I won't be going back!!! Judging by others' comments it seems their system is totally messed up here. After waiting for 15 minutes I asked if I could see someone else and was met with a blank stare. I felt like I was invisible! Why the attitude?
