Best facial I've ever had
by sweets509
I've been shopping around for a spa that gives a good facial and this is by far the best place I've been. I booked for a type of facial and when my esthetician Dawn examined my skin, she recommended a different facial which would suit my skin better - and it was wonderful!
The facial she recommended was actually cheaper than the one I had originally booked. The products she used smelled and felt amazing and she answered all my questions about skincare and skin treatments.
I left feeling like a totally new person. My skin felt fresh and rejuvenated - even my boyfriend mentioned how my skin was glowing. I am definitely coming back.
- Pros: great service, relaxing private rooms
- Cons: changing room too small
poor customer service

I would never recommend Soho Sanctuary's massage services. Based on online reviews, I gave a client a gift certificate for a massage at Soho Sanctuary. My client came in for her appointment and was rudely dismissed by a massage therapist. My client had allergies- she was told "if you're sick, I absolutely can't massage you", even though she had mentioned her allergies when she confirmed her appointment. (My client had mild congestion- she wasn't sneezing all over anyone!)
The manager didn't offer any compensation for my client's time or the rude manner in which she was basically sent away from her appointment. (I understand that there might be some inconsistencies in the quality of massage therapists- but the fact that the manager was barely apologetic for this situation was the most unacceptable element for me.)
I was embarrassed to hear this terrible story when I had given the massage as a gift! My client found Soho Sanctuary to be an unfriendly and stressful experience.
This is MY Sanctuary!!

Every time I go to Soho Sanctuary, I leave it loving it more and more. I decided to get a mani/pedi in their Loft and LOVED it. A place like no other...my polish stayed on longer than ever and the products they used smelled so good. The environment was so relaxing! I've gotten everything from a massage to facial to a yoga session and just had the best time there!! It's totally my Sanctuary!!
- Pros: The best place for a woman!
The Best Place ON Earth!

I love this place! I've gone for at least all of their services once and each time it has been a dream. The therapists are so attentive and knowledgeable about their profession. The receptionists are trendy and always more than friendly, and if you come on the right day you'll get to see a former ANTM top three finalist! :) GO You won't regret it.
- Pros: Great Service
- Cons: Wish there was one around every corner!
Lousy Massage, Lousy Client Relations

I recently organized treatments for a group of friends. Everyone had a great time, except for me. I told my therapist I'd like to focus on my back and neck. Over the hour, she basically spent 10-15 min either laying her hands on an area (some no where near my neck) and holding them there for increasing amounts of time, culminating with holding my head for 3-5 minutes. As it was at the end of the massage I decided to ask her about her technique when she came back after I got dressed. Well, she never came back. In fact, she basically went home without checking back in on me.
I called the spa director there to complain. Afterall, I had brought in close to $800 in fees for ONE hour on a Sunday afternoon, a fact I brought to her attention. She basically said what I was describing was some sort of cranial blah-blah treatment. I told her that's not what I signed up for and instead of being apologetic, she insisted it was part of their "signature" massage -- something no one else in my party had experienced -- and only offered to have the therapist call me back the following day (two days after the fact) to explain what she had been trying to do.
None of this makes sense to me as a client, so I will not be returning. It's a total crapshoot at the Soho Sanctuary, so if you'd like your $130+/hr to go further, I recommend going any where else.
