In Short – Since its 1952 debut in Memphis, Tenn., Holiday Inn has become one of the most recognized hotel brands in the world. Kids rule here: Children age 19 and younger stay for free when sharing a parent's room and as many as four children per family (age 12 or younger) eat for free at hotel restaurants. Other amenities include 24-hour business services, an in-room coffeemaker, iron, hair dryer, room service, a swimming pool and a fitness center.
Great location, OK hotel

The location of this hotel is great if you're visiting lower manhattan. It's within walking distance to Wall Street, Soho, Village, East Village, ... Located on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy, close to some great restaurants and interesting shopping areas. The rooms were about average size for NYC and clean. We had a room on the top floor and the view was ok and it wasn't as noisy as the lower floors. Housekeeping and front desk were helpful and very friendly, although the doorman was not. Double bed (two) room ok for 2 or 3, but a little crowded for 4 people.
- Pros: Location, Price, Clean Room
- Cons: Few Amenities, Few dining options
no bargain

We wanted to save money in Manhattan because who spends much time in a hotel room there, right? Well after day one I begged my husband to look for another hotel because it was just that uncomfortable. No dressers! No inner curtain on the window; it was either pitch black or totally exposed to the windows just kitty-corner from ours. The air conditioning was obnoxiously loud. The bathroom was absolutely tiny: only room for one person at a time. We were constantly crashing into one another. Of course, this close to Canal St. it also smelled bad right outside the door.
- Pros: near subway
- Cons: tiny rooms, loud A/C, no privacy
